Artificial intelligence will solve every problem leftists have claimed they care about. End poverty. Provide welfare for everyone. Provide free healthcare and education. Yet leftists are opposed to it because it “uses water.”

This is where the “tax the rich” crowd lose me. Say I earn 90k a year and in 2027 I inherit $200,000 I invest that $200k and after 10 years in the stock market it’s now worth $400k If I sell it and realise the $200k capital gain, what the govt and the “tax the rich” crowd are saying is that I should be taxed as if I make $290k every year. Now if I try and split that CGT income across 2 people I’m “greedy” and avoiding tax But if I sell down in 4x $100k lots over 4 years and minimise my tax, that’s ok and nobody bats an eyelid - but it’s the same principle.

It bums me out how many families have only two kids. It’s a pandemic! Do they really only believe they can only handle two? What’s up with that? I know the answer; it's a rhetorical question. I think it’s bordering on sin for a couple to limit themselves to having two children, for whatever reason. At best it’s a cliché. We’ve attended a goodly number of churches over the decades, and since I’ve become a full-on natalist it distresses me how many families have two children. I’m not saying all Christian families have to go old school and have ten kids like our ancestors, but as I told a young friend of mine recently and my daughter as well, you will never, ever regret having more children. You get to bring more image bearers of God into the world, and into eternity, to love and nurture and raise. So, young Christian couples, be fruitful and multiply! It’s not a suggestion.

You can't tax rich people on unrealized gains from stocks because "it's not real money until it's sold." So explain to me why my property taxes keep going up based on the unrealized value of my house? I didn't sell it. I didn't cash out. I didn't make a profit. But somehow I'm paying taxes on paper gains every single year. Interesting how "unrealized gains" only become a problem when wealthy folks are involved.

@LVRenoan It's mandatory in Berlin. It's a bit like the TV tax: it's deemed important, so everyone needs to chip in whether they need it or not. In practice, the outcome is the same: they lose the need to produce something their captive user base actually wants.

The Berlin chamber of commerce (IHK) has started a massive, cryptic advertising campaign: "WTF is IHK?" I've been paying the mandatory membership fee for 8 years and I ask myself the same question.

AI is killing All About Berlin. When you Google something, you used to get a link to my website, but now you get an AI-generated answer trained on my work. This has a devastating impact on traffic.

@LibertyJen I'm not sure how helpful that is. If the data is in aggregate nationwide, there is a real possibility of a majority of the properties being in specific geographic areas that are too distant to where the majority of work is. It's like stating there's X homes under $Y worldwide.

There are currently ~487,000 home listings in USA under $250,000. Please stop lying that you *must* spend half a million dollars.

@vanislesfinest @MatrixMysteries Congress makes/votes on laws that affect a company's profitability, access to markets, etc. They also have closed-door convos that give them insight into how peers will vote and if a law will pass when it hits the floor. They can trade that. We can't. That's insider information.
