@HinrichsZane The cab body is aluminum (sheet, extrusions & castings), as you can see it silver in color. That black structure mounts behind it and supports the massive aero fairings. The aluminum is eventually painted black too.

The future is bright with the Tesla semi coming into volume production.
Max@MdeZegher

In 2012 we started building Superchargers, as charging infrastructure just wasn't taken seriously. Superchargers are growing 1+ stall every hour and are a pillar for EV adoption. We're now doing the same for electric Semis with Megachargers. The goal is to transform this industry next. It's super exciting to be part of a company that can will this into existence. The @TeslaCharging teams are cut out for this and are inspired to make it happen. Different from the early days of Superchargers, is that companies and fueling providers are finally taking charging more seriously. We're seeing a lot of interest to invest in charging infrastructure, including Semi infrastructure. This is great. We'll be building out Megachargers either way, but if other companies are investing in private or public Semi charging, consider doing it with the very best hardware, software & service: Semi Charging for Business tesla.com/semi-charging-…

@JeebsTX Yes, and there are 145,000 diesel stations in the USA. Plus, the max distance of a Tesla Semi is 500 miles whereas a diesel with large tanks can go 1,500 miles. I have nothing against Tesla, yet to say they will dominate trucking is fantasy.

Tesla Semi charges primarily through dedicated Megachargers (MCS, up to ~1.2 MW), not standard Superchargers. As of late April 2026, there are currently two active Megacharger sites supporting Semi operations. Tesla’s “Find Us” map indicates ~66 planned Megacharger locations across 15 U.S. states, with the largest concentrations in Texas (~19) and California (~17).

Prediction: Tesla Semi Will Outsell Diesel Class 8 Trucks Most people have no idea what the Semi is about to do to Class 8 diesel truck sales in America. In 2025, the U.S. saw roughly 208,000 Class 8 heavy trucks sold, representing a 13% decline from the previous year. Tesla Semi is positioned squarely in this 33,001+ lbs GVWR over-the-road "big rig" category with a clear trajectory to dominate the market. Tesla's dedicated Nevada factory is designed for a full ramp capacity of 50,000 units annually, a milestone targeted for the second half of 2026.  To put that into perspective: achieving this 50,000-unit target means Tesla would single-handedly capture nearly 25% of the total U.S. Class 8 market volume with just one product from a single facility. Let me repeat: 25% of the total U.S. Class 8 market The Economics of Fuel: Electric vs. Diesel Diesel Costs: A standard Class 8 diesel truck averages about 6.5 miles per gallon. With diesel prices reaching $5.50 per gallon during recent price spikes, fueling a traditional rig for a 500-mile trip costs a fleet operator around $375.  Electric Efficiency: The Tesla Semi operates at an impressive efficiency of approximately 1.64 to 1.7 kWh per mile. Sourcing commercial electricity, the Semi can cost as little as 15 cents per mile to power. That exact same 500-mile trip can cost roughly $75 in electricity.  As Tesla scales the Nevada factory and expands its Megacharger network across commercial routes, the legacy diesel big rig isn't just facing new competition; it's facing structural obsolescence. Let me say it again: “Most people have no idea what the Semi is about to do to Class 8 diesel truck sales in America.”

Starbucks CEO defends a cup of coffee costing $9 He says the customers needs to just not think about it as a $9 cup of coffee, you’re paying for the “experience” of getting a Starbucks coffee “In some cases a $9 experience does feel like you're splurging, and then what that means is we have to make it worthwhile.” He says Starbucks customers “want to have a special experience and regardless of what your income level is, in some cases, a $9 experience does feel like you're splurging — well, this is a really affordable premium experience” How out of touch could a person possibly be…

Medicaid fraud in Michigan is a straight-up scam, and the pattern is impossible to miss. Democrats take over the legislature, change the billing codes… and BOOM––Medicaid spending explodes within months using those exact new codes. This isn’t just Michigan. It’s happening in state after state. Michigan was simply next on my list. $356 million in new billing within weeks of the change. Some of these outfits were quietly test-billing for six months, then the second the new rules dropped they jumped to $200,000+ a month. Someone is tipping these fraudsters off the exact moment to strike. Who? I dug deeper and found over 21 businesses that are completely dissolved… still billing Michigan taxpayers $218 million. Who the hell is supposed to be watching this? This is your money. Your tax dollars getting stolen. I care. Michigan taxpayers should care. But the Democrats are more concerned with what President Trump is saying on Truth Social everyday than where your tax dollars are going. Remember that come election day. 🇺🇸

Congrats to the Tesla team. This is a watershed moment for freight in America. $0.15/mile EV vs ~$0.50 diesel ($0.60+ when diesel spikes) Operating costs are the hero. Once fleets see it at scale and production ramps, sales will rocket. EV trucks will take over the roads. Extended POV: This isn’t about specs. It’s about economics under utilisation. Freight is brutal: high miles, heavy loads, tight margins. That’s exactly where EVs dominate. Core specs that matter: • Range: 325–500 miles (523–805 km) • Gross combination weight: up to ~82,000 lbs (37 t) • Energy use: ~1.7 kWh/mile fully loaded • Battery: ~600–900 kWh est • Motors: 3 independent rear motors Charging flips the model: • Megawatt charging (MCS) capable • ~60–70% in ~30 mins • ~400 miles recovered in a stop (real-world target) • Depot charging overnight = lowest cost energy Now the key part: At ~1.7 kWh/mile → $0.15/mile assumes ~$0.09/kWh depot energy Diesel: → ~6–7 mpg → $3–4/gal = ~$0.45–0.70/mile That gap is everything. And fleets scale that instantly. Then layer in: • near-zero idling losses • far less maintenance (no engine, gearbox, exhaust systems) • regenerative braking reducing wear • higher uptime And the system gets even stronger: → solar + battery depots pushing energy cost toward zero → load balancing across fleets → software routing + charging optimisation → predictable operating costs vs oil volatility This isn’t a truck upgrade. It’s a system rewrite. Diesel = fuel logistics Electric = energy + software Fleets don’t buy hype. They buy cost per mile. Once they hit scale production, it won’t be gradual. Fleet is where the system flips. ⚡🚛
