🚨 UPDATE: This is Lucy just days before the incident This photo shows Lucy right after surgery. She was medicated, her leg was bandaged and wrapped in a plastic boot, and she was wearing a large cone. During that time, a jogger reached into that cone. Lucy reacted and nipped once. This was not an aggressive attack. It was a defensive reaction from a dog in pain, disoriented, and unable to move or see clearly. There is no way Lucy could have reached anyone if they had not reached into her cone. And for that moment, she was labeled a “dangerous dog.” A year later, Lucy slipped out of her collar for a few seconds on her own property and barked at someone walking by. She did not attack anyone. She did not leave her yard. And for that, she was taken away. Now she is sitting in a shelter, away from her family for the first time in 11 years, and she could lose her life. ⏳ We have until May 8th. 📞 TAKE ACTION Call the Shenandoah County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office at (540) 459 6129 #SaveLucy
