For those seeking good entries into E&P cos., the reaction to earnings so far is a positive ... in that some cos who raised production guidance have sold off because ANY increase is bad. What that ignores is that maintaining production often/usually results in reserve depletion, not reserve maintenance. That is a negative result rather than a positive, although changes in prices can override production changes in determining net cash flows. Only a few more days of E&P earnings left to identify attractive opportunities if investors/ traders dump the sector. The impact of Trump's War has yet to be felt, and that offers investors to choose their stock adds and monitor their positions more closely in such a volatile environment. $FANG and $VNOM are among the more attractive reports so far, with $PR set to report tomorrow. Of course, at the right price many setups will produce positive returns almost irrespective of how long the War drags on (maybe). Which cos do you think are doing measurably better this year?
