I foresee lawsuits. People do not want ginormous stinking to the heavens — rodent and disease incubators placed outside their homes 24/7 365 days a year!
This is such a terrible — beyond absurd idea and brought out spite for vehicles by @openplans

it is not remotely civilized having big ugly dumpsters in from of residential buildings 24/7 vs some trash bins and closed bags for a few hours. They are dirty, smelly, hard to clean and keep the surroundings clean. Bad idea - and not civilize or even civil.

NYC's war on middle class families continues. When you factor in rat sheds, daylighting, bikelanes, etc. etc. how many parking spots have been taken away? 30%? 50%? Expect more families to flee to the suburbs where they'll own two cars and drive 10x as much! @speakermenin

Traveling to Poconos from Brooklyn last week we crossed East River through Battery Tunnel ($7.50) and ended up on the Westside highway. Google Maps routed us through the Holland tunnel, but had to dip into the congestion zone. $16.50 just to LEAVE city and still congestion!
