@DaveKeating It has always been like that since the beginning of the European community, which only got formed because the US made pressure after the war.

It's not just the 🇺🇸wars. It's everything. For 15 months, 🇪🇺President von der Leyen's first instinct has been to make excuses for whatever Trump does. No matter what, she must always be on America's side. Just like NATO Secretary General Rutte. Something is rotten in Brussels.

It's worth revisiting this absurd timeline of the 🇪🇺president's credulous Atlanticist instincts so far in the Iran war. 28 February: 🇺🇸President Trump, in a video announcing the start of the war, urges Iran’s people to “take over your government” as the US weakens the regime with strikes, saying “America is backing you with overwhelming strength and devastating force.” 3 March: 🇪🇺President Von der Leyen, following the US killing of the ayatollah, credulously believes and endorses Trump's stated war aim of regime change to liberate the people of Iran. She calls for a transition to a democracy and blames the unfolding chaos *only* on Iran, ignoring the 🇺🇸🇮🇱 attack entirely. She again yesterday blamed only Iran. 1 April: 🇺🇸President Trump gives a primetime address insisting "regime change was not our goal. We never said regime change". He says he wants to keep the Islamic Republic regime in power (hoping for a repeat of what happened in Venezuela) and end the war with the Hormuz strait still closed. Not once but twice the 🇪🇺President has credulously believed stated US war aims of regime change and endorsed them (first with Venezuela and then with Iran) and ended up looking like a fool when that stated objective ended up being fake. Each time this happens it gets harder and harder to take her seriously. euronews.com/2026/03/01/ira…

Frankreich u.a.

DIE GANZE GESCHICHTE aufs Handy: t.me/dieganzegeschi…

@Williamfrie1 @MedievalScholar He was not French, but Frankish in particular and therefore German, as Franks are one of the main tribes that make up the German people. The majority of French are not descendants of Franks who were a minority in what is now France.

Uninteressant

@simongerman600 You cannot have your cake ( becoming the capital again) and eat it. People from Berlin complaining about gentrification are delusional socialists. They should have voted for Bonn staying the capital to remain a provincial hinterland.

Financially, life in and around Berlin doesn’t look like fun anymore. It’s normal for the capital to be the most expensive city in a country. Berlin was artificially cheap as two regimes pumped it up. Since reunification price levels slowly crept up to high levels.

@elie_foube16925 @HistorylandHQ Which has been a consequence of punishing and isolating the democratic Germany after WW1. Btw the Nazis first stopped this policy because the Soviet Union has been their ideological enemy. The cooperation with the Soviet union between 1939-1941 has just been a tactical exception.

@LavendelVicky @MedievalScholar I don't care about your coping... the early emperors were sovereign rulers. After the Staufs, the emperor's power and authority eroded. The rulers then often didn't even attain the title of emperor.
