That’s another crazy part of the story:
In Canada, commercial surrogacy is illegal. Altruistic surrogacy is the only thing that is permitted by law.
A surrogate can only be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred during the pregnancy. Nothing more.
She sent them an invoice for just over $10k. These guys still haven’t paid her. Meaning she basically lost 9 months of wages and expenses for absolutely nothing, and they are now suing her for over $600k.
