Yesterday shortly before 1 p.m. in the 1100 block of 32nd Street near Arapahoe: ⚫️ A man first assaulted a pregnant woman, throwing her to the ground and trying to steal her keys and phone. ⚫️ A neighbor intervened…he recorded the attack, got into a struggle with the suspect (a gun fell, neighbor picked it up), and helped the woman escape to her car. ⚫️ While this was happening, 22-year-old Kaylen Stroter went into an apartment building, came back out still armed, and approached a RANDOM man who was simply walking his dog on the public sidewalk. Witnesses say Stroter looked at the dog walker and asked, “What the f*** you looking at?” before shooting him in the head at close range. The victim had zero involvement in the earlier assault or intervention; he was randomly targeted. The dog walker died from his injuries. The pregnant woman was treated at a hospital. Stroter was arrested nearby and faces first-degree murder charges. Police recovered at least one handgun. This wasn’t a robbery. It wasn’t a fight.
