These simulations showed a significant population of conformers in which the reacting groups were held together within van der Waals contact, providing a potentially useful approach to guide future designs of SuFEx derivatives in a variety of molecular contexts. 8/9

My first postdoc paper is now in @J_A_C_S! By incorporating SuFEx chemistry and protein engineering we covalently stabilized an 18-subunit protein-peptide complex, enhancing stability and homogeneity for high-precision applications like DNA sequencing. 1/9 pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

Exciting news: we've been awarded a #ERCStG ! My group will systematically explore the sequence/folding landscape of transmembrane proteins to make our de novo design methods even better and to design from scratch nanopore sensors for important metabolites!
