I feel if you offered someone a treatment and said this "can" help... I feel they'd expect a miracle with little personal effort. "May" however, would expect personal dedication towards a positive outcome eg self-efficacy and motivation etc...

We need to consider compliance as well as the actual effectiveness of the diet alone. Sure the diet can do amazing things, but dealing with psychiatric patients who may not be willing/ready to make changes, these are significant barriers

You could do a social experiment & offer any smoker £1000 if they could tell you the health message on the packet they currently own. They won't know lol

What do you think is more powerful: Reading the words on advert/packet. Believing the words printed. Or stress you may experience that triggers smoking? Then there are the feelings you experience when smoking. Which of these will win you over? What about food? @drjenunwin
