A postie’s job “back in the day” wasn’t just work. It was also an “accidental” health intervention: ☀️ daylight 🚶 steps 🌿 nature 🏡 micro-connections 🕰️ rhythm Then, without anyone really noticing, the job didn’t only change physically… It changed systemically. @RoyalMail

🌿 Environ-MENTAL Health Much of what we now label as mental or neurological difficulty may be better understood as a human nervous system responding to environments that have become too fast, too loud, too dense — and too disconnected from nature.

@StevenQuartz @nntaleb @stevemagness It’s incredibly disheartening to see these battle of egos among those we flood with funding to help treat/cure these conditions we constantly suffer w/. IMO traditional neuroscience has very poorly provided practical solutions. Criticism is fine, but let’s start w/ ourselves.

This guy might be a good coach, but he doesn't understand how to do science - classic Dunning-Kruger as @nntaleb reveals. His recent book is riddled with basic errors (eg his whole story about quail 'oxytocin' misidentifies the hormone used) and is an exercise in confirmation bias. Here he cherry-picks reassuring endpoints, treats heterogeneous designs as commensurate, over-interprets null findings, and pads causal claims with unrelated resilience rhetoric, all while under-specifying what was actually measured.

A New Year reflection As the first day of a New Year arrives, I’m thinking of how snowdrops quietly appear — not forcing their way through winter, but responding when conditions allow…. facebook.com/share/p/1CuFui…

I hope by sharing this message all my family & friends know that I send my love & best wishes for your best possible Christmas. This year funds typically spent on stamps + cards is going toward funding our Neurocafe @LifeHealthFdn @PersonCentNeuro & that means extra £50-100🙏

@purposeful_pd @MitoPsychoBio More discussion on energy in medicine is a good start. It would enable more people to see why blocked energy is damaging. The CSF of energy got block by a tumour - led me to experience various signs and symptoms of illness including balance problems & memory loss.

Energy has been the missing dimension of medicine. Time to change that.

This is a time of year when the “magic in the air” can sometimes overshadow a quieter, deeper kind of magic. The magic that fuels the giving of gifts across the world, beginning with those brought by Father Christmas, is familiar & visible. Ye another kind of magic is present:

@IamProHuman Having had Parkinson’s 17 yrs, I get the disconnection! But on this day in which my wife’s ashes were placed at rest (brain cancer) I completely disavowed its power over me. I felt connection to my body and to Amy’s soul, overcoming fear in the process.

When I have a ball in my hands, I don’t really feel Parkinson’s. Mind heart body soul, all aligned on this. The conditioning only increases. As does the skill, fun, and ❤️. Sorry Parkinson’s, you can play with me some days. But most days your ass gonna be riding that bench.

I do not recognise the ‘i- patient’ or e- medicine’ and hi-tech- low think practice I reject medicine that denigrates and denies human touch and smell and does not have attentive listening and observation at its core I distrust instant neurological diagnosis

@hjluks I love this. I’m really into this stuff but haven’t read something like this. I suspected it though. I have Parkinson’s. Imagine an hour spent as in this video in a constant state of fear but intensely engaged in a stimulating challenge. I don’t view it as exercise. It’s just fun

@EricTopol @NatureMedicine Fascinating - #fasting seems to have an interesting effect on that “food noise”, speaking from personal experience (or perhaps that should say “hearing from personal experience” 😜? After 9 days, it does quieten down, especially when you refocus the mind on the “job at hand”.
