Ilhan Omar says goodbye to her MILLIONAIRE status after her office says past fillings showing the congresswoman had up to $30m in assets were due to accounting errors. An updated filing now claims she and her husband have assets only valued up to $95k. The revised disclosure came after the Office of Congressional Conduct requested additional information about the Minnesota congresswoman’s apparent wealth earlier this year.

The Food Standards Agency @WeAreFSA has admitted, in writing, to us, that their slaughterhouse inspection and regulatory system completely fails to police the religious slaughter limits. A 38-year-old HR worker at Transport for London (TfL) has been jailed for three years and nine months for her part in a £650,000 tax rebate fraud using stolen employee data. Luciana Akanbi, who accessed confidential records including passport numbers, National Insurance details and bank information of over 100 TfL colleagues, used the data along with her husband Femi Akanbi, 51, to submit 139 fraudulent tax rebate claims to HMRC between September 2021 and January 2022. The Nigerian couple, from Dartford in Kent, obtained around £433,000 from the public purse. The judge at Woolwich Crown Court described the offence as the “worst ever” data breach in TfL’s history. Both were sentenced to three years and nine months in prison.
