My high school dropout boomer parents got married at 18 and 17 and lived in a cold water (no hot water) flat in the core city of St. Louis.
They had three kids and rented apartments for 17 years before they bought their first modest home.
They both worked multiple jobs and drove beater cars or took the city bus.
AND they were thankful because they didn't have to do all of that during the depression which was worse.
This was the common experience of most of our neighbors as well. That's why they were called working class.
You are so spoiled and pampered you have no idea.
Sit down and shut up
You can complain and blame others or you can work your rear off for decades with no vacation.

It’s insane how little compassion so many boomers have for young people.

Israeli media already recognizes that Israel has failed in Lebanon; is not going to be able to occupy what it promised ('to the Litani river'); is not going to be able to disarm Hezbollah by neither military nor political pressure; has created an unbearable situation for its people in the north.
Israel is not pushing to expand in Lebanon, simply because it can't. Hezbollah is too strong, and they cannot mobilize all the reserve soldiers they imagined they had (if they did try, it would end in a historic massacre of soldiers). And every attempt to move deeper into Lebanon is immediately punished with a great number of casualties.
They can't end the campaign in shameful retreat either. Consequently, momentum is now on Hezbollah's side, as regards both the IDF and life in the north.
Israel is as helpless against Hezbollah as it is against Iran's missiles

@PrezLives2022 @redpillb0t Maybe it's time we learned our true history.
English

@redpillb0t Why not the Killing Fields of over 50 million? Why not Rwanda or the African slave trade? Why not the Native American genocide? Because it would make every American know we are the worst government on the planet.

Last week, my post about Boomer life drew some ire from young people who feel we "destroyed the world and their future." (But lots of fellow Boomers liked it!)
So for the young people. Here's a peek at life before the late 70s. The life you DON'T have because of us.
🔹Women were often stuck in secondary roles (you could be a nurse but not a doctor).
🔹Employers could deny a woman a job because “she might get pregnant,” and many had to quit when they did get pregnant.
🔹Birth control was restricted or illegal in many places under the Comstock Law.
🔹A husband couldn’t be arrested for beating his wife; it was a “civil matter.” Marital rape wasn’t even a crime.
🔹Women often needed a male relative to co-sign for a bank account or credit card.
🔹Black Americans in the South lived under Jim Crow. Even after it was outlawed, change was slow.
🔹Gay people could not be openly gay or get married.
🔹Information was scarce. You had to access a big library or buy expensive books. No pulling info up on your phone.
🔹Acquiring skills meant finding someone willing to teach you in person. No YouTube or no AI.
🔹Drive by a river and you’d see pipes dumping bright orange or green factory waste straight into the water. Some toxic landfills were so bad, nothing has ever grown there again.
🔹Heart attack? Often a death sentence. No stents. No pacemakers.
🔹Young men could be drafted and sent to war against their will, then come home to a country that called them baby killers and spit on them.
Here's the thing. Every generation gets handed problems. We addressed these. Now it’s your turn to fix the ones you’re facing.
Sincerely,
Your Retired and Tired Boomer Grandma

Trump's speech for the White House easter egg hunt: "I just want to say we have a great military. We're the most powerful military anyplace in the world. You saw what happened with Venezuela, and it's an honor. I built it in my first term and I didn't know I would be using it so much in my second term."

@ChrisMurphyCT I do believe that Trump, knows he’s dying — and wants to go out like a major crime boss, guns blaring.
Trump hates the world because he has Zero self-esteem — so he wants to destroy it on his way out & be remembered as a powerful badass.

Trump is calling reporters today to tell them he is going to commit mass war crimes next week. GOP leaders need to stop him.
Never mind that blowing up bridges and power plants and killing innocent Iranians won't reopen the Strait.
It's also a clear war crime. 1/ A 🧵on why:
Rachel Scott@rachelvscott
Spoke with President Trump. He told me the conflict should be over in days, not weeks but if no deal is made he’s blowing up the whole country with “very little” off the table. "If happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country,” he said. I asked if there’s anything off limits. “Very little,” he said.
