@elonmusk If 20% of the content on X is generated by (Russian?) chatbots, who do you believe on X @elonmusk ? I’d rather rely on a legacy medium with human journalists in the newsroom.

I hear this from many people. If all they read is the legacy media propaganda, they have no idea what’s actually going on. Very important to send them links to 𝕏 posts, so they can learn the truth.

At work I’m drowning in a deep 🔵 sea. Everyone I talked to today about Trump & saving America had zero clue about what I was saying. We’re living in two different worlds. I’m in the 𝕏 world of truth, they’re in the misinformation land of The View, even the intellectuals believe the lies.

"The more people use genAI tools, the more they value their output." -@nicnewman - Only around 25% of US users have tried ChatGPT, with just 5% using it for news. - GenAI could improve efficiency, but trust remains low. - People worry about too much personalization. #GenAI

Bill Gross is a modern-day Edison. He co-founded IdeaLab—the world's first venture studio—in 1996 & his track record since is pretty insane: • 5,000 business ideas • 150 companies launched • 50 businesses exited/IPOd In 2021, he released "My 25 lessons learned from 25 years of creating companies," a 40-minute video reflecting on his career. I watched & distilled the video so you don't have to... 1) Challenge the Status Quo Pick something that other people aren’t doing. And while zigging when others zag has its challenges, it also improves your chances of success in many ways. First, your idea is ridiculed.  Second, it’s violently opposed.  Third, it’s accepted as being self-evident. 2) Find Great Timing Bill Gross looked back at IdeaLab's companies. He assed five key factors: - Timing - Idea - Team/Execution - Business Model - Funding He found that timing was most predictive of a startups success or failure. A great example of this is Uber coming out right after the iPhone & for the first time ever mobile applications were taking advantage of GPS. With out GPS & mobile apps, Uber would have never worked. 3) Learn to Say No In a startup, your time is most scarce yet most important. When you say yes to something, there’s a huge invisible opportunity cost of all of the things you can't do. Lesson 4: Be Success Sensitive Don’t worry so much about diluting your equity. Worry more about involving people that are truly invested in your & the company’s success. This is especially true with investors. It’s way more important to choose people who align with your mission & values, even if you’re accepting a slightly lower valuation. 5) Find Product Market Fit If more than 50% of your customers tell you they’d be angry if your product was no longer in their hands, you’re probably onto something. PMF doesn't exist initially, which means your job is to constantly figure out what it would take to achieve it. Mike Tyson said “Everybody has a plan until you get punched in the face.” Bill Gross says you get punched in the face by your customer when they don’t feel PMF. 6) Become a Great Storyteller Telling a great story has a massive halo effect. It allows you to hire the best people, get the best investors, close your customers, and motivate your team. Your story acts as the forward propulsion for your company. 7) Be Lean Read the Lean Startup. Run your business with the scientific method. Bigger competition has more money than you. They have more brand than you. More resources than you. But you have the ability to “out learn” them by testing & learning at tighter iterations. 8) Be Remarkable Advertising is a “tax” on being unremarkable. Find a way to make your offering exceptional. And that’s important because it’s expensive to advertise, sometimes to a point where you wipe out any profit you would have made from the sale. [LISTEN TO MY POD BELOW FOR THE LAST 17 LESSONS]

I'm going all-in on curation. There's an overwhelming amount of business content. And the majority of it is just regurgitation of existing ideas. Search cost has never been higher, which is why curation has never been more valuable. And I'm going to bet my reputation on this thesis. Starting this week, I'm going to make Founder's Journal your one-stop shop for the best business content in the world. The best blog posts. The best podcast episodes. The best essays. The best tweet threads. The best books. The best speeches/videos. On the podcast, I will curate, summarize, and analyze the 1% of content you need to succeed as an entrepreneur & business leader. I already have a laundry list of curated content to start breaking down, but share below anything I NEED to cover on the pod 👇
