@DJisForReal Except on PC there is no resolution nor framerate increases, so there is almost no point to to ever releasing it as a separate title, they should have just updated the original. I am so fucking tired of greedy japanese devs shafting owners of original releases of their games

@LemiruPL There will never be an upgrade path as that would require not paying full price and it's mostly resolution and framerate increase and allows you to use the grade shop instantly. It's more minor stuff.

We have perfectly good tech that can help increase your framerates and visual fidelity. We have tonemapping, and tons of post processing options. DLSS5 has no place. There was nothing wrong with previous scaling tech, it looks perfectly good without hallucinating the artwork.

@NikTek What hit me is... are we positive it'll even look consistent across the same technology? I mean sure you can 'seed' generative AI, but short of cutscenes, no scene will ever really be EXACTLY the same as another player experiences. How tf do you QA test for this?

I imagine developers will have quite a difficult time implementing "neural rendering" if it becomes the norm. Take for example this; DLSS 5 currently uses gen-AI at a geometry level which yields these results as shown in the picture. When AMD comes up with their own "neural rendering" solution (they're already working on it) for PC and consoles too, the generative AI won't look the same as the one from Nvidia. Each developer will have to work with a different set of upscales that will have different result, as such no game will look the same, especially small facial features. Grace in this case here, will look totally different depending on where you're playing the game at; next-gen Xbox, PS6, AMD GPU, Intel GPU or Nvidia GPU.

@memegod9702 @mask_bastard Yea, I cannot agree with you on the front of "great prices". There are some regions that have to pay unreasonably high prices on Steam due to the fact that their recommended regional pricing is heavily outdated and many devs/publishers blindly use it

@mask_bastard Gabe stated that the only ones that they are scared to go against is us the consumers so theyre just trying keep themselves on our good side by not stealing our data and giving us great prices and helping indie devs
