THE PEA EATING BEGINS...
Over the course of #Game2Give2026 I managed to raise $3,862 for @BungieLove. I said that for every $1 donated, I would eat 3 peas. Well, the time has finally come to make a start.
As a couple of you may know, I've been applying for the Royal Air Force for some time now and now that things with that have finally settled down and I have my date for when I leave for my basic training (12th of April) I can finally focus on my pledge. It may take a couple of streams as eating as many peas as I need to will be unhealthy in one sitting.
So how many peas do I need to eat? I put up some pea multipliers as incentives so that people can double what I eat compared to 'standard' donations, those being $5, $10 and $25 donations. So with those factored in, here is the total amount that I've committed to eating:
$5 pea multiplier: 4 +60
$10 pea multiplier: 1 +30
$25 pea multiplier: 1 +75
Total from campaign: 11,586
Total from multipliers: 165
TOTAL NUMBER: 11,751
How about we round that up to a nice 12,000? Makes sense to me, plus in moderation the greens will be good for me.
How am I going to do this? Well, I'm live RIGHT NOW on Twitch writing this post, then when I'm done I'm going to count 1,000 peas into a bowl and weigh it. From there, I'll go live over the next few weeks, pour my peas into a bowl to match that weight then eat that.
I'm obviously going to apply common sense here, if I think the bowl looks a bit skimpy I'll top it up to look the same as the rest. So once I've hit post, I'll be counting up my peas and I'll post the weight of 1,000 peas in a bowl in the comments.
I also want to say an absolutely massive THANK YOU to everyone that donated to my campaign over G2G. $3,862 is a ridiculous number for someone like me, so I really appreciate it!
In addition to this, this was the first campaign where I founded a team for my Discord community, suitably named Team Peas (Big props to @RaGe0420 for the late night 'suggestion' 😉). Team Peas collectively raised $50,608.78 putting us at #5 in the world for a team fundraising effort for the Bungie Foundation, and I couldn't be more proud of my community 💙
Lastly, I want to apologise for the delay in this. I've been doing stuff behind the scenes in my own life and combined with the RAF stuff, it wasn't a suitable time to make a start on this- but now it is! So come hang out over on Twitch while I could 1k peas and I'll be posting updates as to where I'm up to with it and when I'll be chipping away at this next.
