@_bazztek The biggest problem wasn't Clive but locking the game to PS5 when no one had one; they should had done a multiplatform launch and the story would be different. With 14 is the developing time between patches and the lack of content for midcore players among a long list of issues

Clive stars in FFXVI and it immediately flops, damaging the FF brand irreparably and causing SE to restructure the entire company to avoid another AAA flop like XVI and every FF game since XVI has flopped, effectively killing FF.
Clive gets added into FFXIV and then XIV immediately starts hemorrhaging active subs, then the very next XIV expansion following Clive's event then flops and is the lowest rated XIV expansion to date, undoing the last 8 years of growth XIV had, resulting in both net sales and profit being DOWN for XIV year over year.
Clive get added into FF Brave Exvius and then it shuts down, and then FFBE WOTV then shut down too.
Clive gets added into Tekken 8 and is the lowest played DLC character, Tekken was effectively killed post the inclusion of Clive, now doubly so with the Tekken 8 leads leaving Bamco.
Clive really is the poison touch, so unloved his inclusion in anything has been disastrous to anything, really such a dogshit character that not even a mother could love.

It HAS been part of FF14's ToS since Heavensward that you CAN be banned for stuff you say outside of the game, I just dont think Xeno said anything ban worthy.

@linkkling Prices are link to a supply and demand, before 7.5 prices where between 100k-300k and now that a lot of ppl came back to start preparing for the next expansion the gear is bought more since a lot of ppl stopped playing and need the gear to catch up, hence prices went to 500k+

Ok, so let’s imagine my in-laws are at the hospital, waiting with my parents as I labor through the birth of my child.
Baby is born, I get cleaned up. Maybe I say, “No family right now” and everybody waits. Get up to the recovery room, and IF I WERE TO SAY, “My parents can meet the baby, but not your parents” to my husband?
That makes me a bad person. Doesn’t matter how I feel. Doesn’t matter my state of mind, doesn’t matter what I’m recovering from specifically. If I invite my parents into my room to see my baby and refuse to even let my husband take the baby into the hall to meet his parents, then I am unequivocally a bad person.
Because life isn’t always all about me, even when I’m going through something pretty major.

@roegamaniac I say this as a story stan and a raiding stan both that since this game has been marketed to be the beginning of a new arc narratively and practically (basically this game's soft reboot) it 100% should have a skip and maybe a recap video for the H-Z arc if wanted.

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.
