@WSJ Long time coming. Going to be some incredible books written about the greed and entitlement of those who left the tour. The next few months are going to be very interesting to say the least.

Tonight is a good night to repeat what I said last August when Texas started this mid-cycle redistricting chain reaction. Politics has to be more than a power grab. By either party. There have to be rules that everyone follows. Otherwise, it’s all about power and pretty soon there won’t be much left that holds our nation together.
Ari Fleischer@AriFleischer

I want to win 5 more seats in the House. But mid-census change in Texas is not the way to do it. Even politics must have rules. Gerrymandering should be done once every ten years - by all states. Otherwise, there are no rules and it’s the equivalent of all- out, political wars all the time - simply to gain power. No state should gerrymander until 2032, including Texas. It’s fair to everyone this way. Even politics should be conducted in a fair manner.

@colemarabito @TXMCtrades How would you be able to judge his economics grasp unless you yourself know economics deeply, like, say an economist would? This is the problem with online discourse. People have opinions on expertise without any themselves. You see how that seems crazy?

The funniest part of Elon Musk having such a laughable grasp of economics is that he holds a bachelor's degree in economics.

@CaptainGrouper @robertwiblin @EgeErdil2 It's not just the money, it's also the developer eco system and global leverage of controlling dominant eco system. I don't think he did a great job making his argument, but it's not the weak or contradictory one people are making it out to be.

@robertwiblin @EgeErdil2 Like he basically said... They are ready to pull ahead using system scaling. The part people are missing is the products ecosystem that ties them to the NVDA cuda system. Otherwise, the US loses the money and sales which mean less money to develop.

If you're Huang why do you go on Dwarkesh and have your transparently self-serving and self-contradictory arguments exposed so clearly? I don't get what the upside is.

@DAlperovitch @Aces_W120 Your own point here undermines the implication that it's about cynical greed then - since he could just sell them all to US companies since the demand is there. This gives more credibility to his strategic dependence and open source bigger tent arguments.

@Aces_W120 Yeah, clearly Nvidia is hurting badly and their ticker is about to get delisted. Laughable. Literally every hyperscaler is saying they can't buy enough Nvidia chips but he wants to sell them to China

Incredible interview with Jensen. He blatantly admits that his jihad against export controls is simply all about Nvidia selling more chips worldwide, not about national security or winning the AI race against China (which he previously said doesn't even matter if we win)

No, not fully. The specific claim of Filatov buying a 4M euro house in Italy (paid via QIV Trade LTD) has no confirmation in news reports, declarations, or records. QIV Trade was an old BVI offshore he owned 2009–2016 (per Pandora Papers) before transferring to his daughter; no link to recent Italy deals. His wife rents a Milan apartment (declared 2024–2025). His wealth is real and declared: low official salary (~$800/mo equiv.), but pre-politics business assets include multiple Ukrainian properties (30+ objects), Japanese art (~50M UAH), luxury cars/motorcycles, a sailboat, and he sold a helicopter in 2024 for ~35M UAH. He's a known wealthy ex-businessman.

It's hard to believe! Filatov, the mayor of Ukraine's Dnipro city and Zelenskyy's friend, bought a house in Italy for 4 MILLION euros during the war. Payment was made through the offshore company QIV Trade LTD. Filatov's official salary, as declared - $600. He also owns: - More than 20 luxury properties in Ukraine - 14 luxury cars: Mercedes, Jaguar, and Porsche - A helicopter - A sailing vessel - A collection of Japanese art, antique cars, premium watches, jewelry, diamonds, and emeralds AUDIT UKRAINE!

The vast majority of the “dislocation between physical and paper barrels” is very simply extreme backwardation, meaning the steep premiums for spot deliverable barrels (as BBG referred to them today, ASAP barrels) relative to later-dated cargoes. Crude futures curves have experienced record prompt backwardation (prompt premium to second month), and that steep backwardation keeps extending through to spot physical prices, which are even nearer term deliverable than prompt futures (WTI trading May atm, Brent trading June)

@JohnsonBec32985 @Kasparov63 Let's make this simple Beckett. Ukraine is a free democracy that didn't threaten anyone. Iran is an extremist theocracy that has used violence/terrorism for 50 years and has loudly stated that they wish to exterminate other countries. Do you understand the moral difference now?

Zelenskyy's credibility comes from moral leadership of democracy against dictatorship, not a mythical international rule of law that has turned into a one-way street exploited by authoritarians like Russia and the Islamic Republic and their terrorist catspaws like Hamas.
Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan

It's astonishing that you, a world leader who many respected for standing up to an illegal attack on your country, now support an illegal attack on another country. It completely kills your credibility. Right now. Iran is Ukraine. You may not like to hear that but that is a fact

Imagine Amazon — but for combat drones. Ukraine built it. Commanders log in, browse hundreds of drone models, pay with brigade credits and receive delivery in 5-10 days. Successful strikes earn bonus credits. No other military in the world does this — NYT. 1/

Right then. Let me explain something very slowly, because it appears some basic logic has gone missing somewhere over the Atlantic. No serious nation in the history of warfare has spent fourteen months insulting its allies, threatening to annex their territory, siding with their common enemy, and then knocked on their door expecting them to come running to rescue a catastrophe of its own making. That is not how alliances work. That is not how anything works. You abused the UK. You threatened Canada. You tried to grab Greenland. You called the EU an adversary. You praised Putin, the one man every serious NATO ally has spent decades preparing to fight. You hosted Kremlin officials in the Capitol. You undermined European elections. You abandoned Ukraine. You imposed tariffs on your closest partners. You did all of this loudly, proudly, and on camera. And now you are surprised that nobody is returning your calls. Here is a question worth sitting with. Why do you think that is? Is it possible, just possible, that when you treat your allies like enemies for over a year while cuddling up to their actual enemy, those allies might update their opinion of you? Is that concept too complicated? Does that require more working memory than is currently available? You did not plan this war with your allies. You did not consult them. You did not build a coalition. You started a conflict, watched it go sideways, and then got on your knees asking for help from people you spent fourteen months calling weak, corrupt and irrelevant. NATO is not what it was. Not because Europe changed. Because Washington made crystal clear which side it is on. And it is not ours. You want European boots on the ground? Start by explaining why America is more aligned with Moscow than with Brussels. Take your time. We will wait. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1
