If you're wanting to nerd out, check out @VoteHub's really pretty looking election data and maps. I have to explore more on the methodology, but they have Dems beating @KevinKileyCA by 12-pts, Dems picking up the @DarrellIssa seat by 11, and the @RepDavidValadao seat by 6.

Posting is cool, but taking action is even cooler. One of the most impactful thing you can do to advance YIMBYism in California is to team up with other YIMBYs and knock on doors for pro-housing candidates. Join us this Saturday for the first YIMBY Day of Action!

If CA cities are not hitting their RHNA goals AND they have impact fees > 2.5x the national average, then HCD should be able to set the local impact fees until housing production aligns with supply

@zennonuc How many people your age have run for CA Senate in history? Did you adjust for inflation?

Zennon For State Senate
We’ve been told that we raised more money for State Senate than anyone else my age in CA history.

@zennonuc CBIA is literally sponsoring AB 1903 the condo liability reform bill…

Zennon For State Senate
With love, CBIA has been one of the chief obstacles to condo defect liability reform in CA because they don’t want competition from urban development. They are sprawl builders, not infill. Wish they could have a “rising tide lifts all boats” attitude but alas

I think we should in general be suspicious of candidates who say their plans will lead to a lot of homebuilding but who can't sell the people who actually build houses on that idea. Two exceptions to this that I am open to!

Councilman Soto-Martinez advocates for safe streets but does nothing about fighting these costs. And also approves of the half-ass street repairs around HLA. So where really does he stand on safer streets?
Streets For All@streetsforall

Something about LA just doesn't add up. Cost to do curb ramps per corner: Beverly Hills - $10,000 Caltrans - $15,000 City of LA - $50,000+ Why does basic infrastructure cost so much more in LA compared to surrounding cities or even our state transportation agency!?

What YIMBYs should realize is that Matt Mahan *is* the abundance candidate.

Should we assume that the pro-open-borders, anti-enforcing laws guy shares views with @nithyavraman? Why is her mayoral campaign website in your bio? @LACity has super strict rules about disclosures. 🤔

If you moved to LA from Florida a month ago for college, pay no taxes & plan to leave in four years, you can vote in local LA elections If you moved to LA from Mexico 40 years ago, have citizen children in LAUSD, pay taxes, plan to stay here forever, you can’t

@cafedujord @okayheyjay Sorry but if your running for Gov and your response to a question about what you have done to promote housing - at a YIMBY candidate forum - is to talk about a project you killed, call me seriously unimpressed. He has no housing plan. Hasn’t talked about it at all

@maxdubler @sands659 Which state legislator (the people making these statewide zoning decisions) are saying it’s not supply and demand?

I have been assured that supply does not lower housing prices; so this must be happening because Texas has low income inequality, a ban on algorithmic rent setting software, strict regulations on corporate ownership of single family homes, rent control, and robust social housing.

In #Dallas, renting a home hasn’t been this affordable since 2008.

@sands659 @maxdubler You missed the point. He’s saying people are saying that it’s not supply and demand to which I am saying nobody credible or with any power believes that. Yet he keeps leading with that point and mocking the thought/ideology. It’s supply and demand everyone knows that.
