Regrettably, he is in denial. There are 12.4 million unemployed people, and of these, around about 10 million, nearly 80% are trapped in structural, long-term unemployment, meaning they have been without work for over a year. The majority are young people, women, Black South Africans, and those in rural areas. Even if we were to absorb all of them into universities and TVET colleges, it would not resolve the crisis because the economy is simply not creating jobs. The latest data I saw shows that over 600,000 graduates including doctors, lawyers and engineers are unemployed Yes, education is essential. Stats SA confirms that those without a matric qualification face almost no chance of employment. But we must not exaggerate the role of education to justify maintaining economic policies that have clearly failed the unemployed. The crisis is not just a skills problem, it is a failure of the economy to generate decent work.

“The majority of South Africans are unemployed because they’re unemployable, they’re unemployable because they don’t have the necessary skills to drive a modern economy. We boast about having so many people on the SASSA social welfare program as if it’s an achievement whereas it’s a failure.” - President Thabo Mbeki 🇿🇦

Wait, so the ANC Provincial Conference in East London which was interdicted costed Taxpayers more than R15 Million? I’m saying Taxpayers because these people looted money from Municipalities to host this thuggish event.

UPDATE: PROF ANELE HAMMOND HAS RESPONDED US Mr Kabelo Makeke, Head of Personal and Private Banking (@StandardBankZA), As per the email from Prof Anele Hammond, where you were copied, and in light of her public video (Update 3) in which she challenges Standard Bank to come forward with documentary proof rebutting her claims, when can the public expect a further response from Standard Bank? Allow me to draw your attention to the closing paragraph of your statement dated 25 March: "Standard Bank remains committed to transparent, fair and responsible banking practices… We will vigorously defend the reputation of the bank and its leadership against malicious falsehoods." That is a firm position. However, at this stage, given the seriousness of the allegations and the level of public attention this matter has attracted, a statement alone may no longer be sufficient. The public now needs clarity. Not another he said, she said. At this point, I believe it would assist the public if Standard Bank could address, with supporting documentation where possible, each of the allegations made by Prof Anele Hammond in relation to the vehicle finance transaction she has characterised as fraudulent. One of my biggest concerns is this: if a high-net-worth client such as Prof Anele Hammond finds herself compelled to escalate matters this publicly, what does that signal for the many ordinary South Africans who have, in recent weeks, come forward with concerns about suspicious or disputed activity on their accounts, and who say they are struggling to get assistance? As I stated in my initial post, what drew me to this matter is that Prof Hammond has framed this not only as her story, but as a broader attempt to give voice to others who feel vulnerable against large institutions. At this point, and considering the level of public attention surrounding your institution, one would reasonably expect to hear from the highest levels of leadership. Prof Hammond has, on multiple occasions, directly addressed and challenged your Group CEO, Sim Tshabalala. Where is the board? Where is Funeka Montjane, the Chief Executive Officer for Personal and Private Banking? At this point, we need a clear stance from the bank. No more vague denials and threats. Please take the public, and your clients, into confidence. Update 3: x.com/DrAneleMngadi/… Re a le kopa, toe. #AskAsanteOnBoards
Asante Mokhuoa@AsanteOnBoards

Standard Bank has now placed its version on record. That changes the nature of this conversation. We now have two sharply conflicting narratives in the public domain, and the next step cannot be noise. It must be documents, pleadings, timelines, and proof. If Dr Anele Mngadi Hammond, her daughter, or anyone acting on their behalf would like to engage, I remain open. @SBGroup ' response: x.com/i/status/20368…

@amerix Order multiplies strength because it channels energy instead of scattering it. A small group with clarity of vision and coordinated effort can move mountains, while a larger group without focus often burns out in confusion. The real advantage isn’t size, it’s alignment.

@amerix Precision is the ultimate leverage. The disorganized majority is usually busy making noise, reacting to every trend, and hunting for burners. Meanwhile, the organized minority is moving in silence, closing deals, and building structures that the noise can never touch.

There’s a downside and upside to an institution having both investigative & prosecutorial powers. The downside is that it may lead to abuse and refusal to prosecute those they seek to protect, and go after those with whom they disagree. Strip IDAC of prosecutorial powers NOW!
