The global AI chip supply chain relies on a single company in the Netherlands, which in turn relies on a single company in Germany. AI data centres consume as much electricity as a small city.

@SenSanders Sounds nice on paper, but this is unrealistic, unfortunately. It would involve complete trust that all countries are following these rules. Bad actors are inevitable. Not sure we can backtrack out of this at this point.

This is not about tools, it is about creating a new species vastly smarter than us, and nobody knows how to control or align it with human values.

You don't "have" an AI that is vastly smarter than you (chimpanzees don't "have" humans). Rather, the AI has you. What part of that is so hard to understand?
