2009. Chuck Schumer gives one of the strongest speeches against illegal immigration ever given by a politician, from either side of the aisle.
This speech is mind-blowing. Hearing Schumer now insult ICE and Border Patrol and advocate for illegal immigrants, it's hard to believe that this video is real but it is.
Virtually every word of his 30 minute speech was about the need to curb illegal immigration. Schumer hit on everything from border security to biometric verification systems.
Schumer was not alone back then. Obama, Biden, and Hillary all took similar stances against illegal immigration during their campaigns for the 2008 Presidential election.
The Democrat party has moved so far left on immigration that by 2021, a Democrat President had effectively opened the border and ended deportations. The party just keeps moving further left on immigration. Democrat politicians now regularly incite violence against ICE by calling them nazis and gestapo.

Mayor Mamdani’s video targeting Ken Griffin and using his home as a prop traded thousands of real, good-paying jobs in our city for social media likes.
The video was irresponsible, and the Mayor should do the right thing and apologize.
I am going to call @leddalhlwee to let him know the Mayor’s video does not reflect the sentiments of the majority of New Yorkers, and ask him to reconsider.
Targeting millionaires and billionaires may make for a great video, but driving out the top 1% of earners, who pay more than 40% of our income tax, is bad policy.
We need a city where the person who drives the limousine is gainfully employed, and the person who sits in the back of it is acknowledged for their contributions to our city.

@HealthRanger I use kimi 2.6 all the time. It is solid for coding and reasoning, however, gpt 5.5 seems far more competent for coding, reasoning. The costs typically have me using Kimi, which is fine, but damn, gpt 5.5 cooks.

VERDICT after many hours of vibe coding, bug fixing and testing:
Qwen 3.6 27b - Outstanding for its size. A workhorse model. For many tasks (like document normalization), turn off thinking and it screams with speed and accuracy. I don't use it for coding, however.
Kimi K2.6 - Highly-capable coding model. Very efficient thinking tokens. Has its own Kimi harness that's excellent. Very usable, very affordable. Replaces Claude for most tasks. Also good at local admin tasks.
DeepSeek V4 - Outstanding at bug-fixing. Sometimes over-thinks and spits out lots of tokens but it's so inexpensive, nobody cares. Solid at coding, and the real bonus is the 1M context window that's native to the model. DeepSeek has made this model so cheap, it almost feels free. You can code all day long for a dollar...
All three models are outstanding in their own way. I use all three daily now, for different things. My Claude usage has dropped by 90%, and I'm still getting everything done that I need to.
What do all these LLMs have in common? They're all FROM CHINA.
China is winning the AI race and the inference race. And the open source race, and the energy grid race, etc.

@HansCNelson To be fair I tried to make OpenClaw very flexible so you can make it yours, and it's been a real challenge to support all the bazillion different ways people want to use it.

The last week was rough for me w/ OpenClaw, but it turns out, a lot of my issues were due to a build up of little custom changes that I’d had OpenClaw make to itself to fix other small things in the past.
Just migrating the config files back as close as possible to the new defaults sorted everything out.
I’ll bet I’m not the only one who was frustrated w/ the dev team over issues that were actually much more my own fault than theirs…
