Job loss in America just got real. 806K+ job cuts this year so far. Tens of thousands... caused by AI. For reference, 2024's full year total was 761,358. Entry-level corporate hiring down 15% YoY. They told you AI would “create new jobs.” I'm not seeing this yet.

@thejobchick PwC’s 2025 AI Jobs Barometer found that across nearly a billion global job ads, AI skills carry a 56% wage premium, up from 25% the year before; skills in AI-exposed jobs are evolving 66% faster than in others.

@EastEndJoe In the revisionist minds of MAGA, all indigenous people are simply placeholders for the eventual God-given mandated takeover by White Christian Nationalists. Or perhaps it’s just about real estate development…

@broadwaybabyto Kelly, and he’s in the healthcare industry… For @SouthwestAir, it’s another customer experience fail; I suspect the SoMe team is directed to respond to customer “complaints” without first putting on their thinking caps - or escalating to a higher level.

Everyone remember Brian - who felt he was aggrieved because people on his flight to Florida were in wheelchairs yet able to board plane without assistance? Brian felt it appropriate to photograph them & complain to the airline. What’s worse, the airline pandered to him. /1 🧵

An HR/recruiter person on LinkedIn is arguing that HR and recruiting should have full veto rights on any hire - even if the manager and rest of team wants them. This is wild, correct? I’m trying to think of a world where this even makes sense.

Is finding out if a candidate is ticklish an appropriate work-related skill? Asking for a hiring manager, I'm about to fire.

Most candidates these days are using AI to build their resumes. Issue is many candidates are adding fake experience to their resumes. For example - saying they worked on X tech stack without ever having done it. They’re either being lazy and not editing the resumes after using whatever AI tool, or flat out lying. The repercussions for this on the employer side is that they’ll likely have more added/intense layers to their interview process as this gets more popular. Even when we enter back into a candidate-driven market, I still think that’ll be the case as the risk of a “bad hire” will only increase.

@TheHoustonWade My Dad, Charles Levy, was an original member of the 10th in WW II (Riva Ridge). A French born mountaineer and skier - the 10th was a natural fit, and he breathed . He passed on Memorial Day 2024 just short of his 101st birthday. I know he would have loved - and saluted - Will...

Seriously, fuck this guy. What my friend Will went through, what he had to do, the men he saw die, the trauma he experienced, and the FIFTY FUCKING LIVES he saved is less important than some bimbo billionaire's wife getting a trinket because shes a big donor. Let's talk MoH 1/

Trump: When we gave her the Presidential Medal of Freedom… It’s the equivalent of the Congressional Medal of Honor— it’s actually much better because everyone who gets the Congressional Medal, they’re soldiers. They’re either in very bad shape because they’ve been hit so many times by bullets or they’re dead. She gets it and she’s a healthy beautiful woman

“Much of the negative hubbub around AI is just lack of education," says @LevyRecruits. It’s important to learn as much about AI as possible... before it changes your world for good. 🎧 to the full interview in episode 43 of the #TechConnects podcast.

@randomrecruiter Best solution for TA? Write performance/deliverables job descriptions. Start off with specific problems to be solved. Let people know that if there's little to no evidence of them solving problems like these, it's a no-go.

@randomrecruiter Reality - most people write average to really bad resumes; most hiring teams write average to really bad job descriptions. What kind of demon child is produced by this procreation?

Posted a job on LinkedIn. Used a pretty specific job description that clearly outlines the main requirements. Received 100 applicants within 24 hours. Less than 10 were even a decent fit. Probably only calling 3 of them. Do with this information as you wish.
