@TGTM_Official Not when it comes to seeds...plants or animals I am totally against ip on living things. Again...if you're rich go for the real deal, I am sure it's still tasting a little better. For the rest of us...were happy to pay cheap and have a slightly lower product.

Japan’s famous luxury Shine Muscat grapes — once a high-end gift costing a fortune — are now super cheap in supermarkets. But look closer: The front label is all in English, proudly showing ‘Shine Muscat’ with beautiful photos. No mention of where they come from. Only on a tiny piece of paper at the back do you find the truth: Product of China. This popular Japanese variety was mass-produced in China, driving prices down dramatically. Many shoppers assume it’s the premium Japanese version — but it’s not. Always check the small print! #ShineMuscat #ChinaProduce #ConsumerAwareness

Yet another absolutely perfect example of how Western leaders don't understand China at all, and how that's ultimately detrimental... to them. The "Plaza Accord" is pretty much universally seen in China as the textbook case of Western economic imperialism - the moment America weaponized currency policy to kneecap Japan. And, case in point, it's widely seen as the trigger for Japan's so-called "lost decades." Plus there's of course the profound idiocy of telling the Chinese you want to treat them like the Japanese... Explicitly saying that's your objective is just about the single best thing you can say to rally all of China against whatever it is you're proposing. Src for article: scmp.com/news/china/dip…

@ZhangDajun Parents have too much self inflicted stress ..too many expectations etc for their children...it became too big of a burden. In Europe parents don't care as much. Of course the kids may not be as well educated but... they have very good life regardless. When old it's sad alone..

🇪🇺 Manfred Weber: "Either we fight back, or China will cripple parts of our industry." 🔸 China now accounts for around one-third of global manufacturing output, while OECD estimates show Chinese firms receive 3–8x more state support than OECD peers. State subsidies explain nearly 60% of Chinese firms' global market share gains over the past two decades. 🔸 Europe must defend its industrial base through anti-dumping measures, procurement restrictions and a strategic trade policy. Free trade only works when competition is fair.

China still has not solved the real estate crisis that exploded during the pandemic. New housing starts are down almost 80% from 2019 levels, while property investment fell 16.2% YoY in the first five months of 2026 and new home prices are still falling 3.5% YoY. Real estate and related sectors once represented around 30% of China’s GDP, with households holding nearly 70% of their wealth in housing. The market is still clogged by an estimated 80 million unsold or vacant homes

EUROPEAN LEADERS HELD a closed-door game to see what would happen if they started a trade war with China, the FT’s Alan Beatie revealed yesterday. Beijing won. “China really has thought this through very well,” Beatie said. . SIMULATION The table-top simulation was played with people from think-tanks playing the roles of the EU Commission, the EU Council, individual European nations, plus China, the US, and Japan. As the game progressed, it became evident that the Europeans’ best bet for demanding a deal that was advantageous for themselves was by threatening to refuse to allow China to have the chipmaking machines made only by ASML of the Netherlands. But the Europeans were disunited on how powerfully they should make the threats. (Also, the coercive bullyboy US had already ordered the Dutch company to stop sales of all recent models to China, so the Chinese could only buy older machines.) The Chinese player said such European actions between trading partners were unfriendly, and they would have to retaliate by stopping the sale of rare earth elements. This worried the Europeans, who needed a constant supply for their car factories. . LIMITED TRADE WEAPONS The session ended with no resolution except for China agreeing to trade talks a couple of months later—or basically, kicking the can down the road. The Europeans had achieved nothing. The game enabled EU players to realize just how limited their trade weapons were, how powerful China’s was, and how difficult it was for Europeans to unite on anything. “But even if consensus is achieved, Europeans should learn from Donald Trump’s experience and refrain from aggressive actions likely to lead to escalation,” Beatie concluded. His suggestion: Europeans will be better off not starting a fight with the Chinese. The game was not just for fun -- Europeans are meeting at the moment to decide how they should react to China's success in manufacturing and the import-export trade.

🇨🇳 China’s massive overcapacity serves as deliberate strategy. The 🇪🇺 EU posted a €359.8 billion goods deficit with China in 2025. The 🇺🇸 US ran a $202.1 billion deficit, India $99.2 billion, and ASEAN roughly $190 billion. Beijing subsidizes its firms at 3–8 times the OECD average, flooding markets and building dependence in strategic sectors. The EU felt it hardest. As Europe aggressively embraced the green transition, it opened the door wide without adequate safeguards. Chinese dominance in solar panels and EVs delivered cheap green tech in the short term, but gutted European manufacturers and widened the goods deficit to its current gargantuan proportions. Unfortunately, the problem has been ignored for a while and few good options are left on the table. Europe will have to harden its trade policies vis-a-vis China, even though ultimately trade wars are damaging to everybody. The system of subsidized capacity is by now so entrenched within the Chinese economy, that it’s doubtful Beijing itself can downscale it on its own, even if it wanted to. @marcosagusstinn
