Why do motorist pay more than cyclists?
1) you take up 6 times the space
2) you cause 10,000 times more in wear and tear on the infrastructure
3) your infrastructure cost at least 20 times more than a cyclists infrastructure
4) your infrastructure requires replace about 5 times more often than cycling infrastructure
5) you cause 100 times more death and injuries than cyclist.
6) for the amount of noise and air pollution? You win again, many times more.
7) the loss of economic activity due to the congession you cause, winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Apparently car drivers pay more tax than cyclists. How exactly does this work if a car driver occasionally rides a bicycle? Does the amount of tax they pay change each time they switch transport mode?

Being doored is a huge danger for cyclists - it's one of the biggest causes of killed and seriously injured cyclists in London. Drivers, PLEASE allow space for cyclists to ride well out from parked cars. Cyclists, PLEASE only ride close to parked cars when under 5mph.

@cupcake7166 @RayMairead Cyclists own cars too but road tax was abandoned in 1937 … you pay vehicle excise duty. Roads are paid for out of treasury central funds.

If a car didn’t pay car tax it would be taken off the road, if a cyclist didn’t pay council tax they can continue to use the roads. So it doesn’t make sense and in my eyes cyclist DON’T pay towards the roads. We are being stitched up because the Government steals our road tax and fuel tax and then only pays for the repair of the roads from our council tax. That way they give others a free excuse to use the roads. Also why do cyclists peddle faster when you want to overtake, it’s as if they do it deliberately.

Extraordinary allegations from @benhabib6 !! Ben Habib alleges that Nigel Farage & Boris Johnson were paid £1m each by Christopher Harborne to essentially rig the election in favour of Johnson. It is a common misconception that vehicle taxes pay for road maintenance; they go into the general treasury fund.
