> been paying $200/month for cloud AI APIs > laptop: M2 MacBook, 16GB RAM > tried running models locally, garbage quality after 4K tokens > read this TurboQuant breakdown on Tuesday > applied 3-bit KV cache compression > same MacBook now runs 100K token conversations > quality: identical to cloud > cancelled all API subscriptions Wednesday > it's been 3 days > saved $200/month forever > with a free algorithm from a free paper > my MacBook didn't change. the math did

Citadel Securities published this graph showing a strange phenomenon. Job postings for software engineers are actually seeing a massive spike. Classic example of the Jevons paradox. When AI makes coding cheaper, companies actually may need a lot more software engineers, not fewer. When software is cheaper to build, companies naturally want to build a lot more of it. Businesses are now putting software into industries and tools where it was simply too expensive before. --- Chart from citadelsecurities .com/news-and-insights/2026-global-intelligence-crisis/

This morning, my agents filed 192 million lawsuits against every company in the world. 0.1% of the companies settled for $1000. I was up $200 million. By the afternoon, their agents countersued and my agent settled for $2000 each. I am now bankrupt.

IT Unprofessional

Last week I hosted family for Thanksgiving. My 12-year-old nephew asked for the WiFi password. He wanted to play Roblox on his iPad. I looked at the device. Unmanaged. No antivirus. No encryption. I’m an IT Professional. I don't run an open network. So I didn’t give him the password. Instead, I spent 45 minutes provisioning a Guest VLAN. I set up a captive portal. I throttled the bandwidth down to 56kbps. Then I blocked all traffic on ports 80 and 443. He came back crying. He said it wouldn't load. My sister screamed at me to "just let him play." I told her that Zero Trust architecture doesn't care about bloodlines. We didn't have a "fun" Thanksgiving. But we had a secure perimeter. You’re welcome for the compliance.
