@modernisteo26 @Alex_Ortodoxie The confession is part of the 1672 Jerusalem council addressing a forged document of Patriarch Cyril Lucaris, which taught predestination and iconoclasm. The council demonstrated it was a forgery and rejected its teachings, Reformation theology, and Calvinism in particular.

There is no “perpetual war” between Holy Orthodoxy and the tiny group of purely online crypto-Protestants that try to push western views of inherited guilt. That’s pretty close to an outright lie, RZ. And the confession of Dositheus is not “kinda on the latinizer side,” it outright condemns Calvinism as heresy. It’s literally the opposite of “kinda on the latinizer side.”
Redeemed Zoomer 👑@redeemed_zoomer

@AL_J82 In Orthodoxy there is a pertpetual war between "latinizers" and "anti-latinizers" Dositheus is kinda on the latinizer side because it affirms Transubstantiation.

@lporiginalg What does she even want? She feels something, but doesn't know what it is, has no actual complaints, and no idea what she wants to change. Is she lonely and wants his affection? Is she embarrassed and wants reassurance? Is she jealous and wants his attention?

@MendamCaedo @celestiumart I quoted Jesus, Jesus promised the gates of hell would not prevail against his church. You assumed that meant fortifications charging forward in battle, a ludicrous image said in bad faith and ignorance. I gave you chances, you just rolled your eyes, so now you have no excuse.

That's a whole lotta I'm not reading that. The church is not built on Petra (feminine/female), and even more hysterically, Peter is not the cornerstone. Do you know what a cornerstone is or is used for? Further, you can't have your cake and eat it too. You argued for a defensive image only to now switch? Guess you finally drew the picture. As again, an invading force would not carry its defensive battlememts with it. And finally, such a statement does not make a the claim that you assert it does. It doesn't form an infallible organization run by non-human entities that is incapable of evil or error. Or are you arguing that every evil committed through a "catholic" church was, in fact, God's desire and actually good?

It’s weird when you say Eastern Orthodox have left the faith when they’re the first Christians who have passed down the faith. Where do we mess up the gospel and deviate? I’m not trying to catch you in a gotcha, but I often see you and the other Lizzie go at the apostolic faiths. I’m not here to tear either of you a new one as I’ve seen others do, and I think that’s unchristlike. I’d rather hear your point of view.
Lizzie Marbach@LizzieMarbach

I understand your disillusionment with modern evangelical teachings and churches. I grew up in a church where benny hinn and Paula white would come and preach once a year. I get it! Trust me. But there ARE solid Christian churches who do hold fast to the truth and tradition, so long as it is aligned with scripture. The problem with RCC & EO is that their traditions contradict the gospel itself. They’ve become like the Galatians and abandoned the faith. Contact men like @thisisfoster who can get you plugged into a good church community. I promise it’s out there!

@MendamCaedo @celestiumart I've written quite a lot so it's in the images below. tl;dr Jesus' church built on Peter is foretold in the old testament as an eternal kingdom that will trample the demonic earthly kingdoms and will cover the whole world. It is not a "human institution" that can fall away. 2/2

@MendamCaedo @celestiumart Now here's the explanation I promised earlier. In short, the demons aren't the invading army. The demons are the defenders, it's Jesus and his Church that are the invading army. The language of gates of hell refers to Psalm 24, see below 1/ x.com/LightSpoken_tx…

@MendamCaedo @celestiumart If she doesn't reply to this comment I will provide the explanation later, I just want to show that her accusation is just a smokescreen to avoid a major problem with many Protestant churches (not all actually, historically Lutherans and Anglicans would agree with this point).

@MendamCaedo @celestiumart No no, enough of your gaslighting, you don't even know what Jesus is talking about. I'll give you a hint, it's in a psalm. But to understand the Psalm (if you can figure out which one it is) you also have to understand the Kingdoms period of Israel, (hint: Elijah).

@MendamCaedo @celestiumart If the first Church fell away then the gates of hell prevailed against the Church Jesus established, which Jesus promised would never happen (Matt 16:18). Every "great falling away" explanation is inherently a denial of the power of Christ and his ability to guide his church.

She wouldn't know, she's a bit dumb. Functionally though, there is an interesting list of problems that the eo have, that like the rcc, make being willing to bet on its members salvation highly questionable.Idolatry issues, the half-gospel, proto-mormonic godhood. Also, the eo isn't the first church; when eo and rcc divorced, they killed that church.

@OccupiedW2583 @GregoryWBronson @JRuebl47185 @megievalist Dying eggs, specifically red, was a natural extension of ancient egg preservation techniques that involved basically pickleing the egg in brine or vinegar, or covering the egg in a salt glass layer. It's pretty easy to boil some beats to get a natural red food colouring. 2/

@OccupiedW2583 @GregoryWBronson @JRuebl47185 @megievalist Only mentions Eostre, no mention of any Ostara worshiped by German pagans on the continent. Ostara is a hypothetical analogue goddess, it's a theory that assumes they named their month after the same goddess in their dialect. No record of such an "Ostara" goddess is extant.

@kadiraydin54623 @mog_russEN She's not allowed to just leave the playing venue once there, she would have to call an arbiter herself if she wanted to get up to put her phone away. The arbiters are there to solve these sorts of problems, that's their job.

🚨⚡️ A bizarre incident at the German Championship: Norwegian chess champion Magnus Carlsen, with a wide smile, agreed to take a "selfie" with Kazakhstani player Alua Norman's phone before the second round. But the surprise? As soon as the photo was done, Carlsen rushed to file a complaint with the arbiter! The arbiter confiscated the player's phone in accordance with the regulations.. 🤡🇳🇴

@C2Antiquity Ah yes, what can the destroyer god who's job is to bring apocalypse and reset the Karmic cycle tell us about fasting and prayer. That if we don't fast to work off our bad karma he'll have to destroy us all? But Brahman will recreate the world and then we'll be reincarnated so...

@cbcwatcher The sale and resale of the landwas sanctioned by the governor to raise the revenue for this work, and it was even publicly explained in newspapers to upset colonists. Moody never enriched himself, and went back to Britain no richer than he left it. 2/2 youtube.com/watch?v=A-aI5s…

@cbcwatcher They keep misrepresenting what happened with the sale of that land, Colonel Moody was tasked with designing settlements and fortifications that could be defended from potential American invasion, but with no budget given under the expectation that the colony would provide it. 1/

"While it’s possible that these things created the preconditions, a closer look at the Cowichan decision reveals a deeper source of this chaos. In the 19th-century the Cowichan people had a long-standing settlement at Tl’uqtinus along the Fraser River. Crown authorities were aware of their presence in that territory. The Cowichan and their lands ought to have been protected by the Crown. The land should have been set aside as a reserve. Instead it was surveyed and sold by the very Crown agent responsible for administering the Crown lands – to himself. That parcel of land is now held by private owners, municipalities, government agencies – all operating under the assumption that the land had been legally obtained by the Crown. They, wrongly, trusted that previous governments had done their due diligence." @karenrestoule
