@LighthouseDPC

If you can't AFFORD Medical Care you are DENIED Medical Care. LEGISLATORS say people DON'T CARE about Healthcare Reform so they ARE NOT going to FIX it.

@sonodoc99 You don’t understand. MDs are employees yet are not payed hourly but on production. Yet corporate medicine overhead is 75% meaning the MD gets 25% of what insurance pays them. Everyone you mentioned gets paid hourly unless they are company owners. I own my practice. I keep 75%.

I'm a Traditional Family Physician. I'm even making house calls again. Here's the problem. I used to be one of those Doctors chained to the treadmill. Working 10-12 hours a day. When you're exhausted you have no compassion for anyone. Yourself, your family or your patients. 1 of every 6 Doctors are so exhausted they have either attempted or thought about suicide. They have no hope for themselves or their patients. I came home 7 years ago and didn't want to be a Doctor anymore. I was going to throw away my dream. That's what the Healthcare Industrial Complex does to Doctors. I found Direct Primary Care. It saved me. It saved my family. It saved my patients.

We need compassion back in health care. I can see how this would be very helpful, especially for our isolated disabled, ill, and elderly. It feels like you're part of the world with someone coming to see you, rather than a sterile exam room with 6 minutes and a computer screen between you.

Traditional Family Doctors are not a dying breed. Conventional Healthcare is dying. I am a Direct Primary Care Family Physician. I'm making a House Call today. My patients get same/next day 30-60 min visits. I make social visits for the elderly who are lonely. We may spend 10-15 min on medical issues but the other 45 min is just visiting. They're lonely. They told me they are. I suture my patients again for an extra $15 for the suture tray. I've even sutured someone on a House Call. I was the 1 o 2 DPC Docs her 7 years ago. Wen now have 8 and still growing. We also have numerous Direct Care Specialists. We are the Past and Future of Medical Care. #Hospital #HealthInsurance #scam #CORRUPTION doximity.com/collections/1a…

The Big Healthcare Short: You’re the one I AM talking about. The Healthcare Industrial Complex is killing US citizens. Taxpayer Subsidized “Nonprofit” Hospitals don’t pay 37% in taxes and only give back 2.5% charity care. 86% of Virginia hospitals are Taxpayer Subsidized “Nonprofit”. To say this is FRAUD is an understatement. Congress does NOTHING.
Carolyn@BtheChngUWt2C

VUMC approved my charity care, confirmed I need Mohs & plastic surgery, and still I have not received treatment. I now have necrotic BCC lesions on my face/neck. @STAT_News @KFFHealthNews @DutchRojas @realdocspeaks @DrDiGiorgio @HeathVeuleman @LighthouseDPC @Donald_H_Marks 🧵1/4

Abdul El-Sayed: “In the richest most powerful country in the world, medical debt should not exist. $225B — that is bigger than the GDP of most US states in this country. We are gonna abolish it and finally do the work of guaranteeing the promise of Medicare-for-All”

“We've established on the record that the largest health insurance companies are not just insurers. They are also medical providers and pharmacies diagnosing and deciding treatment for patients. They are also PBMs, another form of middlemen managing drug benefits. They are increasingly controlling every aspect of our healthcare system.” Physicians are mere Employees now paid with RVU Coupons. They aren't even paid with money.
healthbot@thehealthb0t

Major Health Insurance Companies admit: - They own the health insurance companies - They own our doctors & clinics - They own our pharmacies - They own the PBMs who set pharmacy prices - Their obligation is increasing shareholder value “We've established on the record that the largest health insurance companies are not just insurers. @JohnAnthonyMD @policywishes If strait Hourly wage isn't your thing keep this in mind. You're getting paid with RVUs, not money. RVUs have been cut 56% since 1992. It's why these lawyers are fighting so hard to keep you from getting paid what your worth. You are worth WAY more that $104/hr.

Not yelling. If we are talking about yearly amount we need to talk about total hours worked. Most of us are/were working 50+ hours a week. At 48 weeks worked a year(4 weeks total vacation) with $250,000 a year, that's $104.16/hr. Your hospital, if it's like other healthcare systems here, has a 75% overhead(they told me). So if you're being $250k as a FM Doc, The hospital is getting at least $1 Million in revenue. I run my own DPC Office. My overhead is 40%. 60% of $1 Million is $600k. If you want to look at it another way. The cheapest Lawyer in the US is in WV making $195/hr. Working 50hrs/wk at 48 wks/yr = $468k. Plenty to run your own office with 60% going to the wife and kids, $280.8k. Lawyers pay here is $350/hr here. Do the math on that one.

@policywishes I axtually kinda like that guy but agree with you it's a dumb take. Are physicians, particularly primary care, underpaid on average? Yes absolutely. Lawyers are paid SIGNIFICANTLY less on average. I would honestly argue the median lawyer salary is too low given their expertise

@policywishes @X0_1_7ex @Hamultonne I'm going to show Doctors they CAN charge a fair hourly wage and still make a living. This discussion is proof of the inequities of society and how Doctors are treated like cattle. Especially by lawyers.

So Doctors are rich? What’s a Fair Hourly Wage for a Family Doctor? The cheapest lawyer hourly wage is in the US is in West Virginia, $195/hour. Lawyers make $350/hour here. Is a Family Doctor worth AT LEAST as much as the Cheapest Lawyer in the US? attorneyatwork.com/solo-and-small…

@LighthouseDPC When I was in Germany, I saw doctors and nurses marching in the street protesting for better pay. As an American, sure never saw that here, all Doctors are GUARANTEED to be multi millions rich forever.

1. Free Consultations - Health Insurance does this to Docs all the time. It's an ENORMOUS loss. 2. Contingency cases they lose - yeah, Doctors lose $MILLIONS on that. Just ask lawyers. They are the ones suing us. 3. Everything else you listed - That's overhead we all have. Thanks for the explanation. Doctors and Lawyers actually have a lot in common. So I ask again, if a Family Doctor could charge a Fair Hourly rate like the lawyers here charging $350/hr, What's a fair hourly rate for a Family Physician?

@LighthouseDPC @X0_1_7ex @Hamultonne Btw to answer your question free consultations, contingency cases they lose, uncollectible invoices, pro bono work, admin time, marketing, client intake, continuing education, and tons of write-offs happen constantly. You are just pissed you had to pay a lawyer. Oops.

And yet you can't give a single Fair Hourly wage for a Physician. You have no proof, just feelings. As a DPC Doctor the Free Market determines my salary. A lawyer's fee is determined between the lawyer and their client. They do "pro bono" work. But so does every Doctor everywhere. We just don't brag about it. A Doctor has to compete to get into Medical School, 1 in 70 accepted when I got in. Then 4 years of Medical School, 2 class work and 2 clinicals with 60-100 hours a week including weekends. No pay while accruing $300,000 - $400,000 of debt you pay off for 30+ years. Mine at $800/mo. Others more. Then 3-10 years of Residency making less than minimum wage with the hours you work. Making less than a Nurse Practitioner with a 2 year degree and 500 hours of shadowing. You don't make near enough to pay your Med School Loans, pay rent, bills, etc. So you hope your partner understands the sacrifice your making for your patients. Meanwhile, the Interest on that $350,000 is rolling back into your mountain of debt. So tell me how does this compare to a lawyer's education who can charge $350/hour here? I have lawyers who are friends I have dinner with. You have NO RESIDENCY. Your debt doesn't come close to ours. You don't have clinicals. Please explain to us all why a Doctor is paid fairly at $105/hr or less.

It works like any other service or commodity. I'm not trying to be facetious here. Who pays for food, clothing, your plumber, your electrician, your mechanic? It's just like everything else. Traditional Healthcare like mine was paid for in cash. Health Insurance has only been around for 75 years. Traditional Healthcare like mine has always been just between you and me. My mobile patients pay me $3-$5 a day depending on age. Much cheaper than food, Energy and many other monthly bills. House bound patients pay me $350/mo. A lawyer here charges $350/hour. So $350/mo($1.02/day) is a bargain for a State Licensed, Board Certified Family Physician. I made a house call yesterday. Hope this helps.

@LighthouseDPC Who pays for this? And how much does it cost? So many housebound disabled people can't access care. This is wonderful.
