Note the two UAE tankers hit by cruise missiles were sailing "dark" ie with transponders off as they have been doing lately in their shuttle runs to take UAE crude thru southern part of Strait of Hormuz to transfer to other tankers once safe. Thx @soonweilun @alexlongley1 @A_DiPaola17 #oott

Iran's response to US attacks is a big hit to UAE. Iran hits two UAE tankers, material damages to both, Mombasa (#Oil) and Al Bahiyah (#LNG). UAE "Ministry of Defence announces that the national tankers Mombasa and Al Bahiyah were targeted by two Iranian cruise missiles while transiting the southern shipping lane of the Strait of Hormuz, within Omani territorial waters. The attack resulted in the death of one Indian crew member aboard the Mombasa tanker and the injury of eight others, including four who sustained serious injuries. The injured comprise six Indian nationals and two Ukrainian nationals. The attack also caused material damage to both tankers as a result of the fires that broke out on board, which have since been brought under control." #oott

Wait. The justification for this war was Iran’s nuclear program. At one point it was regime change. Now Trump says the U.S. is going to “keep” the Strait of Hormuz, “run it,” and get paid for it. Iran still controls the strait, it was open before the war, and now the stated objective is occupying and monetizing an international waterway in the Middle East. That’s an extraordinary admission of mission creep. And failure.
