Mackems hate the harsh reality of this. Our squad is better than theirs, it’s as simple as that. Spurs beat Man City every year, doesn’t mean they’re a better side. Sunderland are having a new PL season bounce, they are feeding off the excitement of being back in the top league. But it’s unsustainable with the players they have. It’ll wear off next season no doubt. I also still think quality will prevail come May and we will finish above them once again, despite it being their best season in 20 odd years. No need to panic my fellow mags 🖤🤍

Do Newcastle have better players?
I'm taking Brobbey over their strikers any day. I'm taking Alderate over Burn, Mukiele over Livramento. I'm definitely taking Roefs over either of their keepers. Midfield pretty comparable. Ballard at least comparable to their best CB.
Newcastle's squad is better and they have some brilliant players, but man for man on both their best days, I'm not seeing much in it at all.

The annoying thing is on paper we do have better players than Sunderland. So why havent we beaten them in the league since 2012 ? Simple Sunderland played like a team who wanted to win. Newcastle on the other hand played as 11 individuals who in the 2nd half didnt look arsed.
