@awfulannouncing ESPN gave @BillSimmons a chair back in the 2012-13 season and for while he was Countdown, talk about an absolute disaster. He fooled people into thinking he knew NBA basketball, when in fact he was nothing more than a Celtic shill wondering who they could trade players for...

@supyoscn @AnalyticsCapper I’m not saying there wasn’t intent. But 2012 Ron Artest seeking out Harden to elbow him in the face for no reason and Wemby getting mauled and throwing an elbow in frustration is not comparable

@LionSheepish @AnalyticsCapper How are they not? Look at Wemby's face when he is winding up.....1000% intentional. Just an immature kid acting out. So he should not go unpunished.

If you criticize Jews, you are anti-Semitic. If you criticize Muslims, you are Islamophobic. If you criticize Blacks, you are racist. What does these three groups have in common? What these three groups have in common is that at a particular point in their history, they were discriminated against, they were persecuted. For instance, if you look at the Jews, they have a long history of persecution. If you look at the Muslims, they have been stereotyped, especially from 9/11, and since the whole issue with Islam and the whole issue with the Middle East. If you look at Blacks, Blacks have been the victim of one of the most brutal slave trade that happened on the history of planet Earth. So when you were a white man, try to impute yourself in the equation or in the conversation or in the discussion. At what point in time were you the subject of discrimination and humiliation and destruction and slavery? At what particular point in time? Even if you were the victim of slavery, it must have been almost a thousand years ago. You start talking about barbaric slave trade, which obviously happened more than 1,000 years ago. You guys, you make 8%, I believe 8% of the world population, and you have up to, you have up to, I believe, more than 50% of the resources. You own more than 50% of the resources in the world. 8% of the population, more than 50% of the resources. So on what basis have you been, were you, were you victims of chattel slavery? Were you expelled from countries? Were you stereotyped as terrorists and arsonists and fanatics and fundamentalists? So I don't really get the whole issue of trying to impute yourself and be part of the, and be part of the victim when you are actually not a victim, when you are actually the victimizer. Because at every point in time, who, who expelled the Jews from Germany? Who expelled the Jews from Spain? Who expelled the Jews from England? Europeans. Who stereotyped Muslims and who stereotyped Islamists? Europeans. Who discriminated and who persecuted and who engaged in slave trade? Europeans. So how exactly did you people want to put yourself into a kind of game of victimhood? Make it make sense to me.

@5150Inprogress @stephenjnesbitt @SamBlum3 So you are fine with the statue, you just want to see the Texas Rangers get approval from the commish to put up a statue of a Texas Ranger? If he’s not governing the statutes at ballparks, he becomes useless.

@LionSheepish @stephenjnesbitt @SamBlum3 He can’t address anything on private property at any ballpark anymore. That was what he said. That was what I pointed out. He made himself useless. I think the statue is fine. There’s just too many stupid people on this app who don’t read things properly anymore

The Texas Rangers installed a deeply controversial statue in their ballpark concourse this spring. And they aren't willing to provide answers as to why it's there. Yikes. Important work from @SamBlum3: nytimes.com/athletic/71975…

@stephenjnesbitt @SamBlum3 My biggest take away from this isn’t the statue. It’s the statement by MLB and the commissioners office saying teams can do whatever they want at their ballpark. Depict anything you want. That’s an interesting precedent they’ve now established. Nice punt Rob.

NEW: Former UFC fighter Cain Velásquez shares a message to his fans after being released from prison for firing at a man who allegedly mol*sted his 4-year-old son at daycare. In 2022, Velásquez got in a high-speed, 11-mile chase with accused pedo Harry Goularte Jr. Velásquez reportedly rammed his car into Goularte's vehicle before pulling out his gun and firing at Goularte. The DA's office had requested a sentence of 30 years to life for Velásquez. He was sentenced to 5 years at the time, already serving 3 of them, but was able to earn additional time off after participating in rehabilitative programming. Velásquez says he is happy to be back home with his kids and thanks his fans for their support. Congrats, Cain.

Cowboys placed the second-round, $5.76 million tender on kicker Brandon Aubrey, per source. Aubrey now can sign an offer sheet with another team that the Cowboys would have the right to match. If they don’t, they would get back a second-round pick.

every time there’s a fake astroturfed protest like “no kings day” or the women’s march, someone has a sign that says “if Kamala had won, we’d be at brunch” they think the sign means “if Kamala had won, things wouldn’t be so crazy” but what the sign actually means is “if Kamala had won, the vertically integrated messaging apparatus that spans media, academia, and Hollywood wouldn’t have activated us as its little chaos agent footsoldiers in service of homosexual transgender open borders communism”
