@claraboudette Gavin is the first Canadian to go from CHL to NCAA. Celebrini actually lived in the USA because his dad worked for the GS Warriors, and came out of the USHL. This is why hes getting alot of attention.

Also it shouldn’t take much selling to continue playing for your hometown team that just won the division and took the Stanley Cup Champs to 7 gms in round 2. Marner simply wanted to leave, his choice.

@HennyTweets They didn’t trade Marner though, they tried to sign him and he wanted to leave. Also, those Wings/Capitals teams made changes to the core around Yzerman and Ovechkin. The Leafs, if anything, were too safe and committed to their core.

Not sure if it's a hot take or not, but if I'm trading a forward this offseason its not going to be Knies, its going to be Matthews. If we want to leverage an asset for futures, then trade AM34. Build around McKenna, get yourself a true 1D

Pelley using AI to summarize trade ideas when he has no hockey experience is a nothing burger. Every high level business is using AI to optimize workflows. AI is used to make internal tools that make tasks more efficient. The Leafs data team is almost certainly using AI coding tools to build models. Pelley isn't suggesting the next GM should ask chat gpt for free agent recommendations and any sources alluding to anything like this are just dinosaurs who dont understand modern technology.
