There’s steps at both the front & rear doors; so I guess wheelchair users who run into difficulty on a night out are not deserving of help. Even though we’re more likely to run into difficulty; such as taxis refusing us. And there’s a picture of a wheelchair user on the side! 🤦‍♀️
Camden Council@CamdenCouncil

This week marks one year since our Camden Safety Bus has been running. The bus is a safe space for anyone in Camden who needs assistance or support when on a night out. Watch our video and find out more. youtube.com/watch?v=UCb8hQ…

@Corneliussmit56 @Lucy_Webster_ There is no such thing as an indefinite blue badge, all blue badges have to be renewed every 3 years, precisely cos, as you say, once the owner dies some family members, of some dead BB holders, will abuse the badge until it expires. Also cos faces age and photos need updating.

My Pip benefit has been awarded indefinitely (even the DWP recognises my cp isn't going to change) so I don't get letters. But Southwark council makes me renew my blue badge every three years, which requires a Pip letter dated in the last year. So I have to call DWP for a letter

@Lucy_Webster_ You should still be receiving an annual award letter every single April, informing you of how much your PIP has gone up by that month. I was on “indefinite” DLA, now have “ongoing” PIP; and I’ve always had my annual April letter.

@joshparry @BBCNews @dannelson_cam @kristianj23 Sorry to bother you again about this, but I attempted to watch it again this morning and it still doesn’t have subtitles. While blind ppl rightly get a discount on the TV licence; deaf & hard of hearing ppl do not: We pay the same as hearing ppl. Yet we don’t get equal access.

@joshparry @BBCNews @dannelson_cam @kristianj23 I know it’s not your fault, you’re a reporter, not one of the techies. But this isn’t the first time stuff has been published on iPlayer initially without subs; which were then added later: iPlayer did the same with *Access All’s* election interviews about disability policy.

@joshparry @BBCNews @dannelson_cam @kristianj23 I just tried to watch it on iPlayer, and it doesn’t have subtitles. You are aware that some deaf and hard of hearing people are also members of the LGBT community, and therefore interested in this doc?

@RobbieRinder @BeethFrancees Well, there was that creep on a bus who - without even a “hey” or “nice day, eh?” - asked if I had any phantom limb pain. I was so stunned by the bizarre question literally all I could manage was stretching out all 4 limbs & saying “I’d have to have something amputated first!?!”

@RobbieRinder @BeethFrancees You got the full medical histories of a group of total strangers? I find that surprising since - being very obviously disabled - I’ve had a lifetime of strangers demanding to know what’s “wrong” with me; and I never tell them cos it’s none of their fucking business.

Packed train from London to Plymouth due to storm disruption. Elderly people made to stand in the isles for the 4 hour journey. I’m FAR from perfect but gave up my seat whilst other young & able passengers sit in total indifference. It’s sad & disappointing. Thank you mum for teaching me some manners. They cost nothing & matter most.

Beware before you give lasting power of attorney (LPA) to lawyers. Bank accounts locked and cash withdrawn after elderly gave LPA to a law firm. Properties sold at low price, later at higher price. People fleeced. Must be investigated. Rogues shut down. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@owenjonesjourno … that includes lansoprazole, but also any other oral meds. (ISTR you have ADHD?) Gaviscon (+ all fast acting antacids), and calcium supplements, can prevent other oral medications from working properly, hence you need to wait 2hrs after Gav for lanso, then + 2hrs for more Gav.

@owenjonesjourno So if Dr Stuart Bloom is still at UCLH, you would be so lucky to get him. Until you’ve had some tests done, there’s thousands of things it could possibly be. One last thing: Make sure you don’t take Gaviscon within 2 hours either side of any other oral meds, and yes…

Sorry to bore with the health stuff, but got very helpful advice yesterday, and maybe it'll help others. So every time I eat or drink water it's excruciatingly painful, so unsurprisingly I ended up in dehydrated. The very lovely crew at Ambulatory Care in UCLH put me on a drip and gave me a litre of water, then PPI. I'm on Lansoprazole 30mg twice a day for the last 53 hours, before that Omeprazole, and Dihydrocodeine 30mg every few hours with paracetamol. Unfortunately despite all that, and this started on Monday, I feel worse than ever today. Tried eating a couple of grains of rice this morning. Immediate horrendous burning pain around my chest area. Even a big sip of water sets that off. Haven't meaningfully eaten since Tuesday lunchtime. Any advice welcome! I'm obviously going to have to get rehydrated again, but not being able to eat is obviously an issue, and obviously I can't do any work which sucks. Any advice welcome! I'm very privileged to have never been really ill, so this has given me new insight. I've only had a few days of this, and clearly it sucks, so been thinking a lot about people who have chronic illnesses which go on for years. Anyway, fingers crossed this doesn't drag on indefinitely 🙏

OK so, against my better judgement, I've developed some health issue and wanted to see if anyone else has gone through this in the hope you can help... First thing on Monday it felt like I had heartburn when I ate, so I started taking Gaviscon. Anyway, it got worse and worse. On Tuesday morning I got some Omeprazole (20mg). Throughout the day, a burning sensation in my stomach became a constant. In the evening, it got a lot worse, and got combined with a very bad headache. We called 111, they wanted to send an ambulance, but went to A&E on our own steam, they did an ECG which was all normal. They prescribed Lansoprazole 30mg and Dihydrocodeine 30mg. I saw my GP yesterday, and he ruled out e.g. stomach perforation or ulcer. He thought it oesophagitis, though pointed out that just meant my oesophagus was inflamed for an unknown reason. He did say he'd never come across such a severe case before and found that curious but didn't think necessarily meant cause for an alarm. But despite being on treatment, I had the worst night last night - thanks to severe burning pain in my stomach. I haven't had a meal since Tuesday afternoon, and eating even tiny amounts of food sets off hideous levels of stomach burning. Drinking water is a struggle - I can only get away with sipping, otherwise, again, it's unbelievably painful. I don't have any other symptoms at all. I don't feel nauseous in the slightest. I actually feel hungry and would love to eat a proper meal. My energy levels are pretty good given the circumstances. So basically what the fuck is going on here? I'm actually now clinging on to a Gaviscon allergy - that I did have mild heartburn and I've been drinking poison without realising it, and if I stop taking it, things will go back to normal. When I take it - e.g. before going to bed last night - it burned badly and seemed to set off the severe pain. But I don't know if that's just because anything I ingest sets it off. Sorry to throw this at you but I'm obviously a bit fed up about it all and would love to find out if anyone else has gone through this or there's any pointers...
