@LiveableJesmond There is a guy on Jesmond Dean Road who does bread deliveries. I had to help him out the other Saturday as he had locked his keys in the Cargo compartment. I was most impressed by his set up. This is the way forward. The other day Byker Asda had no bread deliveries on the Monday.

@NeilMurphy1978 @NewcastleCC I happened to be there recently and Jesmond is transformed. I saw no evidence that the adjacent areas were significantly different either. No part of the LTN was inaccessible. Previously a huge are was blighted with traffic constantly. These schemes can rescue cities

Out for dinner last night with someone who lives in Jesmond and said since @welovesalters opened to pedestrians and cyclists, she mostly walks or cycles to Asda now rather than take the car. It’s almost like this stuff works?? 🤷‍♀️ @space4gosforth

If you’re an e-bike user, don’t panic, they seem to be referring to electric motorbikes. A pedal assist e-bike is legal wherever a bike is legal.

This is brilliant-it's often just chance that decides how many stages to a journey. We also want to see better secure cycle storage at public transport interchanges that's suitable for a range of cycles. Great to see this featured in the @transport_north Active Travel Strategy.

Paris now has 180 gorgeous ‘school streets.’ They are pedestrianized and landscaped streets around schools - to mitigate crashes, prioritize walking to school, reduce noise and air pollution. No brainer, really.

@Keith56722 @space4gosforth All the streets between the Coast Rd and Osborne Rd are overwhelmingly residential, but were overwhelmed by rat runners and school runners. Now I see kids and families cycling on them every day. Job done.
