The events of Saturday night were horrifying. It is difficult to believe that this is the third time President Trump has faced an assassination attempt. I am thankful for the many law enforcement officers who responded, in particular those who secured the shooter before he could harm the president or anyone else at the event. Political violence is never the answer, and it must end.

I would honestly love for someone to explain to me how they justify an immigration system where an Egyptian family that was here on tourist visas, and where the father committed a deadly terrorist attack on American soil, is entitled to permanently stay in America… And the answer can’t just be they filed for asylum when such an asylum claim has zero evidence attached to suggest it meets any associated standard.

America will not be lectured about civility by far right extremists in Congress. 🚨CBS: The bullet that hit the USSS agent’s protective vest likely originated from the suspected shooter, not from crossfire, according to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. Blanche also stated the suspect traveled by train from Los Angeles to Chicago, then continued to Washington, D.C., where he checked into the Washington Hilton.

@joethe_duck @FlynDutchman466 @Schwalm5132 Someone interviewed a woman last night who was in very close proximity to him. She said he started shooting (implying more than one shot and waving her hand around as she thought he did). I only heard 4-5 pops on the video.

I’m aware of what the reports said. At the time of that report they don’t actually know. The reality is they heard shots fired and it was assumed that the suspect fired a shot. Considering the guy wasn’t hit (that we know of) it’s far more likely that he was fired upon a bit and that a ricochet or stray round hit the agent’s vest. I’m basing this on the fact that the dude was trucking and showing no signs of slowing down. It was obvious that the security was caught off guard and were reacting chaotically. Could he have fired off a shot on the move? Sure, but I doubt it.

So let's unpack a few things right up front... 1) He left California and was in DC at the hotel where the WHCD was veing held. 2) Imagine the intent he had to have in order to travel that distance all the while thinking about what he was going to do. 3) He either moved several weapons or procured them in/around DC and figured out a way to get them in proximity to the WHCD. 4) He took the time to load the weapons on to his body (to reportedly include several knives) and nobody noticed. 5) Now here is the kicker...in his hidden location he was somehow aware that the President was in the room and was seated. How/when was he aware of that part? 6) If he wasn't a guest at the WHCD and he couldn't see the President from where he was....how did he know? 7) It's not like he could go look in the room and then go load up with his gear. 8) He was supposedly a guest at the exact hotel? Like every room in that place wasn't booked full over a month in advance? In DC, on a Saturday, with the WHCD in the same hotel....have you ever booked a hotel in DC during a Major Presidential event? Good luck!!! All of it screams that he had help from someone in DC. Someone with some serious knowledge and capabilities. You just don't pull off something like that on a whim and without some serious reconnaissance ahead of time.

I mean, define proximity. Seems to me that you're really broadening that term there. Here's the reality. He never got a shot off. He blew a check point and got hemmed up pretty quick. Could security have done a better job? Sure, I suppose. However, you know nothing of the situation beyond the bullshit on social media. How about you give the situation some time to develop before throwing out wild conspiracies.
