Stalin after WW2 tried to have Germany united and neutral, and Stalin did that with Austria and Finland. Something could have been worked out between Poland's leadership, the USSR and France to keep Czechoslovakia undivided and anti-hitler. And if not that then handing over the Danzig corridor is not to bad in itself because it means the Soviets will have less to bargain for from Germany and compete over baltics. The polish leadership did not even try to play of the Soviets and the Germans against each other or making a scheme of their own, they just offshored all their consciousness to the Entente.

This is how we can reconcile relations with the country that believes we are subhumans who need to ethnically cleansed and the country we fought like 20 years ago and that believe our state needs to be destroyed for the sake of the revolution

1) Britain did not bankrupt itself to achieve parity, it bankrupted itself during the actual fighting, which required unbelievable resources. 2) Germany didnt ACTUALLY pay for its own rearmament, they "cooked the books" and huge amounts of the rearamnent was done on what was in effect bits of paper with "IOU" written on them, eventually it woud have utterly collapsed had the rearmament phase continued during peacetime before Germany could have militarily looted resources. It goes on... and on...
