@IsraelMFA This is your dumbest PR move to date. Your soldiers were FILMED doing this, and a member of your parliament (Hanoch Milwidsky) defended it. You will never win this lawsuit. If you were serious, you would allow for an independent investigation of your horrific crimes.

Israel Foreign Ministry
Following the publication by Nicholas Kristof in The New York Times of one of the most hideous and distorted lies ever published against the State of Israel in the modern press, which also received the backing of the newspaper, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar have instructed the initiation of a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times.

A while ago, I watched the infamous 47-minute video documenting the atrocities of October 7th — the one not made publicly available, to protect the privacy of the victims. The worst part of this video is not what it displays, but who is displaying it: the perpetrators themselves. Gleefully. Sadistically. Unabashedly. Most of the footage was filmed by Hamas terrorists on their GoPro bodycams, some also by ordinary Gazan civilians on their cellphones. Even the Nazis tried to cover up their atrocities, but Hamas brags about theirs for the entire world to see. The killers are euphoric throughout the massacre, and their relentless, ecstatic cries of "Allahu Akbar" (punctuated by the occasional "Kill the Jew!") are simply nauseating. Some images are seared into my memory forever. I will never forget the two boys in their underwear — one with his eye socket hanging out of his face — asking his brother whether he thinks they're going to die, while the Hamas monster who had just thrown a grenade in their saferoom helps himself to a drink from their fridge, taking a casual break from the slaughter. Neither will I ever forget the terrorists playing football with a severed head. Or the Thai migrant worker whose head is viciously hacked off with a garden hoe — another "Zionist colonizer" getting what he deserved, right?quillette.substack.com/p/what-did-you… Or the throngs of Gazans crowding around pickup trucks loaded with the mutilated corpses of Jewish women, filming and spitting on the bodies. Or the woman in Kibbutz Mefalsim, crouching and begging in vain for mercy. There is some evidence of sexual violence in the video — the charred corpse of a young woman with her legs splayed and her genitals exposed — but not much. Apparently even Hamas draws a line somewhere: they are not as proud of raping Jewish women as they are of murdering them. Or, more likely, they simply didn't want to embarrass the delicate sensibilities of their legions of useful idiots in the West. But yes — there was rape. Not "rape" in scare quotes, as the apologists would have it, but sadistic, murderous sexual violence, documented in a new damning new report by The Civil Commission, an independent Israeli women's rights NGO. (video summary here: youtube.com/watch?v=K7fJuz…) Across its 180 pages, the report describes "a recurring pattern of rape and gang rape; sexual torture; mutilation; targeted shooting to the face, head and genital area; forced nudity; binding and restraint; genital burning; objects inserted into intimate areas; post-mortem sexual humiliation; and execution during or after sexual assault." And it was premeditated and organized. The terrorists crossing into Israel carried printed Arabic-to-Hebrew phrasebooks with handy expressions like "take off your pants," "lie down," "spread your legs," and "don't make trouble." I wonder why they expected to need those particular phrases? I know one thing: no civilized country on earth would tolerate the existence of an organization like Hamas on its border after October 7th. Not one. This includes every self-righteous Westerner currently lecturing Israel from thousands of kilometres away, without an inch of skin in the game. dailymail.com/news/article-1…

Just received a copy of Ehud Olmert’s statement on the Kristof column he sent to NYT. Full story coming soon. “Mr. Kristof's article includes claims of extraordinary gravity: that Israeli authorities have directed the rape of children, that dogs have been used as instruments of sexual assault, that systematic sexual torture is state policy. I did not validate these claims. I have no knowledge supporting these claims as I said to Mr. Kristof. Therefore, the positioning of my quote after pages of such allegations misrepresents my views."

@JamieBonkiewicz O...K. And in that text book, I guess that you'll portray cats like Nasrallah, Haniyeh, Khomenei, Sinwar and Deif as if they were FDR and Churchill? Got it!

Rahm Emanuel: “No more U.S. military aid—financial assistance from the taxpayers for Israel. You’re a country like all other allies of ours, Japan, South Korea, the Brits, the Germans. You’re going to pay full price; you can buy what you want, but you have to abide by the laws that should be it.” “No more U.S. taxpayer support... I was in the room when President Obama’s largest assistance was under President Obama. We did the funding for the Iron Dome. But here, the days of taxpayer subsidizing Israel are over.” “No more financial aid.”

@vonderleyen How can you purport to put out a serious statement without even mentioning Hezbollah? It's amazing. If you "leaders" do not address the root of that conflict, why would you think you are setting a path to permanent peace? It's mind boggling.

I welcome the announced 10 day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, mediated by President Trump. This is a relief, as this conflict has already claimed far too many lives. Now, we need not just a temporary pause, but a path to permanent peace. Europe will continue to call for the full respect of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. And we will keep supporting the Lebanese people through substantial humanitarian aid.

French President, Macron: Yesterday, I spoke with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian, as well as with U.S. President Donald Trump. I urged the resumption of the negotiations suspended in Islamabad, the clearing up of misunderstandings, and the avoidance of any further escalation. It is essential, in particular, that the ceasefire be strictly respected by all parties and that it include Lebanon. It is equally important that the Strait of Hormuz be reopened unconditionally, without restrictions or tolls, as soon as possible. Under these conditions, negotiations should be able to resume quickly, with the support of the key parties concerned. France and the United Kingdom will also host a conference in Paris this Friday, bringing together by videoconference non-belligerent countries ready to contribute, alongside us, to a multilateral and purely defensive mission aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the strait when security conditions allow.

The government just fired the two immigration judges who refused to deport Rümeysa Öztürk and Mohsen Mahdawi. The immigration judge who ordered my deportation—Jamee E. Comans—was promoted right after issuing her decision against me. This is why they drag us into immigration "court." It's a kangaroo court: the administration is judge, jury, and executioner. I never had faith I'd get justice there. The federal courts are the only place left where this mockery can be stopped. We'll see if they do the right thing.

Exclusive: The Trump administration has fired two immigration judges who blocked the deportations of Rumeysa Ozturk and Mohsen Mahdawi, two int'l students who expressed pro-Palestinian views. Four other judges were fired on Friday too.

In the Spanish town of Elborgo, there is a tradition where the villagers create a figure that "symbolizes evil" to blow up during the week before Easter. This year, they chose Netanyahu. And, listen, to an extent I understand. I don't like Netanyahu; I don't like his policies on a lot of things. But if I blew up a giant 7-foot effigy of Netanyahu, it would be a lot different than a town in Spain doing it. Still really weird, but different. Spain and antisemitism go way back, and it's not ancient history. The recent resurgence has been incredibly scary for the Jewish community. One organization was even trying to mark every single Jewish-owned business in Madrid. And so when a Jew sees this, they could assume that the people just mean Netanyahu and not Jews at large. But what indication have the Spanish people given that that's the case? Antisemitism is getting worse in Spain, and people are acting like Jews are a nuisance for calling it out. So is it really that big of a leap for a Jew to see this and worry about what it means?
