I find it interesting that sodium phenylbutyrate was found in this study and even @Jie_Immunology's science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… to help reverse this in lungs and now gut? Clinical trial soon?

Very happy to start 2026 by sharing our new manuscript in Nature Metabolism.✨ By studying the constitutive adipocytes in the bone marrow, we identified a brain-mediated pathway that bypasses the SNS to evoke massive fat loss. 🧠🦴 Full article here: lnkd.in/gH7eHv4r

Unlike the white fat cells you may be familiar with, brown fat cells use energy to produce heat. NIH-supported researchers identified a previously unrecognized way these cells use energy. The findings suggest a potential way to promote weight loss by increasing heat generation in brown fat cells. bit.ly/3LSxeSK

Super interesting ! A new UCP1-independent thermogenic mechanism in peroxisomes sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Happy to share our new paper in @Nature led by staff scientist Xuejing Liu @Jessielxj2. We report identification of a UCP1-independent pathway of brown fat thermogenesis involving ATP-consuming metabolism of BCFA in peroxisomes. #Obesity #T2D nature.com/articles/s4158… @WashUDeptMed
