@RotsoRobbie @spacepoodoer2 @Alex_Dinu11 @mcrs987 Totally, but every ship that’s made it through reentry has landed intact, including the first V3. Landing after reentry is proven. Abort to gulf sure, but to have that be the main objective seems like a waste when the chopsticks are *right there*.

@LoganJusticeTCA @spacepoodoer2 @Alex_Dinu11 @mcrs987 There actually is a point to land starship in the gulf and it’s the exact same reason why booster lands in the gulf. If you can do a successful landing in the gulf from orbit you can do the tower. Why risk something going wrong during reentry that wasn’t planned
English

@spacepoodoer2 @Alex_Dinu11 @mcrs987 There’s no point in going through the effort to get ship back to the vicinity of Starbase only to dunk it in the gulf. If they don’t intend to catch it, just ditch it somewhere else. The document also notes that the first orbital mission is Starbase to Starbase.

English

@Alex_Dinu11 @mcrs987 They wont catch the ship during first orbital test (hopefully flight 14)
This trajectory is for a gulf landing
English

@Christhayes1948 @Stellarixorine You should go down to Starbase and see it launch for yourself on Thursday.
English

@LoganJusticeTCA @starship_41 They use diffrent tanks so for each burn they got 100% ish filled tanks basically removing slosh problems
English

@LevLime @VibeChaserrr I sincerely doubt the first orbital flight ends up being out of Florida?

English

@LoganJusticeTCA @RocketRanchTX I'll be just up the road at River but I'm sure we'll get a chance to rendezvous!
English

@TheAstroN8 Outstanding, see you there. I’ll be @RocketRanchTX
English

@LoganJusticeTCA Yep. Waste nothing. When are you going to come down for another one?
English

@LoganJusticeTCA I don't think they're going to make Thursday for liftoff so may as well if 21 is ready.
English

Very telling bit of info in the new FAA Starship reentry environmental assessment document. First orbital flight and the reentry path goes right for Starbase? Love to see it.

@LoganJusticeTCA @starship_41 They designed the vehicle to be able to infinite and shut down all engines at once
English

@LoganJusticeTCA @TimWrede2 That’s what I was suggesting.
33 -> 13, and than either 13 -> 3, or 13 -> 5 -> 3.
