so when ppl say okc gets away with more contact than everyone else…they’re right. you can get away with as much contact as you want as long as you maintain legal guarding position, which okc does better than anyone and defenders guarding pilgeous don’t.

i think, after that they’re coping, the biggest reason fans are under the impression that okc gets away with murder is the disconnect b/w what fans think refs look for (sheer amount of contact) vs what the refs actually look for (positioning regardless of physicality)

@scarswrath @C2_Cooper I think defense is a skill and their whole team is full of great defenders that play physical while fouling less, and when another team comes in and feels forced to match that physicality, they aren’t skilled enough to do so in a controlled way without fouling more

This type of thing is what makes me get why Luka fans think he’s better. If you watch every Luka game and see him be a super creator, you would think he’s BITW. Pair that with the only time you watch Shai being through clips on X, I get it. It’s wrong, but I get it.
