Congratulations Lieutenant General Francis Omondi Ogolla on your promotion to the rank of General and subsequent appointment by President William Ruto, as the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). Lt. General Ogolla, previously the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces (VDCF), is taking over from General Robert Kibochi who has served his term and is set to retire. Also appointed are Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi (VCDF) who was the Vice Chancellor (VC) - National Defence University (NDU), Kenya. In his former position now sits Major General Said Farah (VC - NDU). In a meeting I chaired with the Defence Council today, we presented a number of recommendations upheld by the President. Further, we made various promotions, postings and appointments of KDF officers. This move is aimed at strengthening our military operations, and build an efficient and effective defence unit.
