@wilreynolds I ask chatGPT how it works. It told me that it’s using an external search api (likely Bing) and doesn’t access the internet directly and doesn’t visit website. When asked if in theory this is just the same as how Google search it agreed that it was very similar.

Honestly with the amount of new stuff launching and the speed at which it's launching. It feels like search in the late 90s. Today ChatGPT includes search, Meta is building it's own Gen AI search. Google launches this... It's really a lot. developers.googleblog.com/en/gemini-api-…

@JohnMu I don’t think Google will want to move into the mine field of surfacing expert content as an authority, which there has been a big push for EEAT. I think overlaying truely conversational search would be cool. For example a refinement of the SERPs based on your criteria.

@wilreynolds Screaming Frog? I normally look for identifiers on page and make assumptions. The first could be extracting the schema on page as most sites will tell you if it’s a product page. With out seeing the list I couldn’t build the assumptions for the rest.

Anyone build a way to take a URL and determine if it is a PLP or content page at scale? I might want to do this across 100k+ URLs and 100+ domains. Thank you!

@ubereats_uk service has become more expensive but worse, it’s actually a joke. Ordered food for it only to be delayed for 2 hours and then cancelled. No one to contact to cancel the order so left in limbo. Cancelled our accounts and we’ll be using @JustEatUK going forward.
