I know people don't wanna hear this, but the PvE only, PvP-lite and pure PvP focused modes are what Marathon needs to stay alive. Extraction is a really cool concept, but it's also too niche of a genre to match Bungie's budget of graphics, world & story building and overall quality threshold. Halo's revolutionary multiplayer would have been non-existent without the timeless campaigns, as would Destiny's Crucible without the PvE side of the game. This needs to happen.

@MarathonTheGame Do not add a PvE only mode. Do not cave. This will break the already bad loot economy beyond repair. We need more maps. A night mode for one map won't cut it if that's all we're getting for future seasons.

@MarathonTheGame Awesome!! Looking forward to less grindy faction upgrades. A PVE mode would go a long way. Biggest gripe about Maratgon was just trying to do solo quests, constantly getting jumped by players ratting, then having to restart.

@digitalcrushed @MarathonTheGame Its funny how people blindly assume this. There are plenty of extraction shooters that don't require full reset faction progress (Arc Raider, Tarkov, Delta Force, etc.) If Bungie wants a large player base, sticking to the stereotypical ES mold may not be the right play anyways

UPDATE: WALKING THE PERIMETER AND UPPING THE GAME We are making an update to the Experimental queue and shifting the Sponsored Marsh map to Sponsored Perimeter. Details below: - As of 3PM PT Sponsored - Perimeter will become available. - Sponsored Perimeter will require you to have a free (green/enhanced tier) sponsored kit equipped to queue. - Sponsored Perimeter will only support crew matching, or pre-made crew queueing. To commemorate this experiment we will also be upping the floor on sponsored kits. Green sponsored kits will now be free and grey tier sponsored kits will be retired until the end of season. Thanks to everyone who has been participating in the Sponsored Dire Marsh experiment, we've learned a lot from your feedback and from observing you. As we roll out this new queue, we look forward to hearing from all of you who want to hop in and join us especially those of you at hauler who want to duke it out.

@Reallycoolbirb @MarathonTheGame Yeah, I'd be fine with something like that. Like the first ~30 hours of upgrades kept. I'd say tier 1 stat cooldowns, vault/wallet space, and meds/backpack/shield upgrades, but everything else reset. Just enough so people don't have to perpetually regrind basics.

@Keegan416 @MarathonTheGame Yeah that's rough. At my rate, that's just getting vault space, meds, and the backpack/shield unlocked, then having to do it again. Trying to finish introductory quests while simultaneously fighting off players is one of the most frustrating things about Marathon in my opinion.

For example, I love souls games, which are as hard-core as it gets for rpgs, however, even in Elden Ring, you aren't constantly fighting Melania or invaders. A game can have both. @MarathonDevTeam
