@TheRealTomPoole @RupertLowe10 To be fair, it is because he's already a multi-millionaire, he doesn't need to get rich through public office as he is already independently wealthy. Though I don't doubt many a politician would not do the same in his position. A remarkable, honourable man indeed.

@RupertLowe10 Could we clone you Rupert? I think its above and beyond that your entire MP salary goes to good causes. I doubt there's many in a position to do the same, but the message that you aren't getting rich thru public office is very loud and reassuring.

For those asking, my MP salary in May is being donated to a charity called the 'Martham Boat Dyke Trust' in my constituency to provide more of their Sarah Dyball awards. In Sarah’s memory, the trustees make several awards every year to help Martham students to further their education/training to gain a professional qualification. The money will cover course fees (not university), various other costs and for equipment to help get local young girls and boys proper training/skills. It will fund around ten Martham students. Since day one, I have been working to help local young men and women build a successful career outside of university so I am hopeful that this donation will help more students achieve that. I am delighted to help.

@OliLondonTV This is not how taxes work, you are taxed that rate for the amount you make over the threshold, if someone earned 450k, they would be taxed 90% of 50k (45k) . This post is either intentionally misleading at worst or just damn ignorant at best.

Decolonize place names across Ireland. The English versions have no meaning. Every province, county, townland, village, road, hill, nook and cranny has meaning. At the very least have dual signage. Irish culture should be celebrated, revived and protected across all Ireland.
