If you are thinking of using sticky traps to deal with clothes moths (or other insects), PLEASE don't if there could be bats (eg in lofts). This little guy has had half of one ear torn off when it got stuck. Guess what he was trying to eat? That's right, the moths. @_BCT_ #bats

@SteveBats @NorwichBats @_BCT_ Hi Steve, definitely a barbastelle (appreciate not obvious from this photo/angle/lighting) - was taken in by a very experienced bat carer who has worked extensively with barbs.

It’s happened again ☹️ Rare barbastelle bat taken to bat carer in Norfolk & Norwich Bat Group this week - hit by a car & didn’t survive. Road schemes like proposed Norwich Western Link, which would pass through internationally important barbastelle area, are major threat. @_BCT_

There’s a worrying (convenient?) misconception that barbastelles are “high flyers” and therefore not at risk from vehicle collisions… despite alarming no. of vehicle collision records for this very rare species ⚠️🚘 🦇💥 #Traffication @_BCT_ @NorfolkWT @NorfolkNats @Alauda123

A man with a big idea. Prof. @Bill_Sutherland talks about the need for Evidence-based conservation: “My goal was - and still is - to change the culture so it becomes unthinkable to not use evidence in conservation.” cam.ac.uk/stories/eviden…

Our view from @NorfolkWT on today’s decision on the #NorwichWesternLink: It is terrible news for Norfolk’s wildlife. It goes against gov't promises to recover our deteriorating natural environment by supporting a scheme that will destroy nature edp24.co.uk/news/23853027.…

#Traffication ch11: “Drivers of EVs may be misled into thinking that their motoring is now environmentally guilt-free…. the switch to EVs will induce new waves of driving. The problems of roadkill, habitat fragmentation, noise and light pollution might therefore all intensify”
