After finishing The Polygamist on Netflix, the person I couldn’t stop thinking about was Sarah. While many people focus on the adults, relationships, and choices they made, my heart went to Sarah. Learning that she was Jo’s daughter changed everything. She was failed by the very adults who should have protected her. No child should have to carry the weight of adult secrets or feel like they have to fight for a place in their own parent’s life. Watching her see her father love and be present for others while she longed for that same connection was heartbreaking. The saddest part wasn’t the complicated relationships between the adults, but that a child was left carrying a burden she never should have had to carry. Even when she needed acknowledgment, reassurance, and closure, she was left in the shadows. What stood out most was Sarah’s forgiveness and strength despite everything she endured. She deserved honesty, love, protection, and adults who put her first. #ThePolygamist

Just another thing I picked up from the polygamist series✍🏾: When Jonas was sick he still believed the young woman who he groomed by showering her with money would be the one to care for him. Change his diaper, cook for him and so forth. He believed she loved him beyond the money, I guess? Men with money think young, youthful beautiful women are attracted to them not solely for their money. They think the connection is deep. You think at your ripe age of 50 there’s a young woman who just likes you because you look sooo good😂💔???
