Hot take kids should be socialized by adults in their immediate family who love them through consistent daily conversations about the world and their interests not random kids who happen to be in their class or at the playground.

Everything has been said about this by now but truly it’s so nice to have my relationship dynamic represented on screen. This is how people who will die minutes apart talk to each other. Beautiful.

—Only female bees produce honey-male bees only mate with the queen, they don’t work, they don’t defend the hive. Their only role is to mate. —Only female ants make up the colony-Males exist mainly to mate with queens during nuptial flight and they die shortly after. The entire colony (workers, soldiers) are female. —Only female plants produce fruits-Male plants only produce pollen. Female plants produce the actual fruit —Only female spiders sometimes survive after mating-Males mainly exist to find and mate with females. Sometimes they even get eaten after mating. Every other male species are inferior but somehow human males think nature made them superior.

just found out only female cannabis plants make weed. Even men as plants are useless.

Many people knew cops are not there to help you. It’s taking longer for them to find out the same about doctors.

My cousin is getting married today, outdoors in the Colorado mountains. I used to babysit her when we were children. She is a natural beauty, athletic and down to earth, she forgot she was supposed to get makeup for her friend to use to do her makeup today. Between the cousins we had everything she needs, but I think it’s so sweet that the person she seems to be least concerned with is herself. What a difference from the self indulgence we’re so inundated with. Also, having a big family is so fun. People forget that having lots of kids extends far into the future. My grandmother had 9 children. There are 21 first cousins just on our side, and most of us have children. The kids were all running in the field behind the cabins last night while we chatted and laughed. It really doesn’t get much better. Anyway, she’s a gem and I’m so excited to see her in her dress today.

I’ll always say this, the only reason why you should have kids as woman is because you want kids. And you also need to put it at the back of your mind that you could raise those kids alone any day.

One weird thing about this generation is that teachers can record your kids and their belongings and post that on social media. I don’t think anything says decay more than that to me. I don’t even care that they cover the children’s faces *sometimes*.

People who dismiss walking as 'not real exercise' have never tracked a consistent 10,000 steps daily for 3 months alongside a proper diet and then looked at their body composition. Walking is underrated by everyone who hasn't tried it seriously.

@RussJowell Why delay the things that give you the most joy and fulfillment in life until you hit some arbitrary financial number? The responsibility of family is fuel for your fire, not a burden.

Not exaggerating when I say the future of our world depends on people recovering the ability to spend an unbroken hour or two reading a book without being tempted to look at their phones.

Catching up on all the mental load warring. My husband gave me this exact talk yesterday. We went out for a drive with the dogs and stopped at the store to get food. We stopped for diesel for the heater. We got home. I was on the phone with my dad and just walked inside and plopped myself on the couch. My husband followed me two minutes later. He gives me an exasperated look. He said, “here you are sitting pretty while I carry in a dog, heating fuel, and a bag!!” To which I remind him he could have married a man with calloused man hands if he wanted to wake up next to someone skilled at carrying things around. Alas he picked me, a woman who remembers the youngest has an orthodontist appointment on Monday. It’s called complementary roles. In the heat of the moment it may be annoying that I’m not carrying diesel like it annoys me he has no idea when the children need physicals. But damn I don’t want to carry things and he doesn’t want to worry about the family teeth. So you suck it up, do your job, whine occasionally, and generally enjoy a life where you aren’t doing everything always. Anyway let me go make this man coffee before I wake him up and I tell him he has to fix a dryer at the laundromat this weekend. I for damn sure don’t know how so maybe the coffee will make this news taste better. Wish me luck.

Women love a hierarchy and placing themselves above other women: if it’s not having a man, it’s a real body, to having children of their own, to real hair… a lot of things you can’t even control sometimes. It’s sad how yalls insecurities come out.

It’s interesting that in this age young people are the ones hostile to new technology while our parents are buying massage chairs that talk to them and putting Ring cameras in their living rooms
