Actually the rescue operation has not been fast enough. Experts with lifting equipment etc were needed on the ground within 24 hours and that has not happened.

The biggest challenge for Venezuela after the earthquake is to not become Haiti. A country where infrastructure has been damaged for years, large amounts of crime, corruption, and poverty.
