@jenseisert @skdh My two cents as a Canadian who did his PhD in Germany: the US and Canadian application systems were more uni-centric, which meant I knew how to apply to places I did not know anyone at, and could get into the uni without having a supervisor lined up.
English

@skdh Indeed, this is a good thing about the German education system that university education is basically free, but often still very good. I wonder why it is not more popular, say, among US students, as one can still enter a PhD programme in one of the major US places.

@Liv_Lanes @QuantumYakar Have you heard the good word of the Church of the Larger Hilbert Space? @quantum_graeme

@QuantumYakar This past week alone I am sad to say, I realized how many people think QM is just religion or nonsense

@Luke_Govia “In quantum mechanics, wave function collapse occurs when a wave function—initially in a superposition of several eigenstates—reduces to a single eigenstate due to interaction with the external world. “

@gregswhitenoise @Liv_Lanes Only the second half of my tweet was a joke ;). But also not a joke to my email inbox.

@Liv_Lanes @Luke_Govia If you’re into correlated errors boy do I have an abstract for you!

@steve_quantum @qiskit Actually I’m no longer certain that terminal measurements behave this way in qiskit, but might be worth trying to see if it helps.
English

@steve_quantum @qiskit Under the hood maybe, but if you simulate a circuit with measurements at the end for 1000 shots, it will run the full simulation 1000 times. To avoid this, don’t terminate with measurements, but instead with save_probabilities qiskit.org/documentation/…
