@baseballot And Strange has the caveat that he was appointed, never nominated in a Senate primary.
The previous elected Senator to lose renomination (I think) is Arlen Specter, who also has an asterisk in that it was his first Democratic primary.
English

Cassidy is the first senator to lose renomination since Luther Strange in 2017.

Julia Letlow, John Fleming make Louisiana Senate runoff, ousting Sen. Bill Cassidy. The runoff is June 27. Big victory for Trump and Jeff Landry #lalege #lagov nola.com/news/politics/… via @nolanews

@Luky_BB I think RTS leadership had to have gotten involved because there's no way a non-insane jury doesn't give you at least 8

@woatboul @Yaz_Minsky 1) "state that it's bad" != criminalization, that part of the mechanism is missing (which is relevant for why different "bad" things received different amounts of focus from the law)
2) such ideas predate the feudalism described by O,P so they don't help his argument

I’m gonna be honest, one of the best broad-strokes bits of historical advice I’ve ever gotten was in a Crusader Kings III walkthrough: countries do not exist, this game is about families and their property. Anyway marriage grows out of that.
marceline of losertwt🏳️⚧️@l0s3rg1rlie
literally why was same sex marriage illegal in the first place??
English

@YayaLoL__ @Yaz_Minsky Exactly, which is why the explanation above doesn’t really hold water
English

@Luky_BB @Yaz_Minsky This is because the legal system has, generally speaking, grown a ton over the centuries.
It's very hard to have a centralized system when random counts 3 countries over technically controls you.
English

@Yaz_Minsky Countries did not really exist in the Middle Ages, but they *do* exist today

@MassJumbo @JoseManrique93 Miami-Dade netted Clinton more votes than the other three counties combined did for Trump!
English

@JoseManrique93 In 2016 Miami Dade netted Clinton more votes than Harris netted out of San Francisco
English

@JoseManrique93 My favorite (yet depressing) fact I remember whenever I see this graphic

@nikicaga Trump just barely lost those four counties combined in 2016!

@The_Hellenist Don't y'all fetishize a suicidal penguin, a plane crasher, and the guy who tried to bulldoze a kids' story hour?

Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.
Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
